Free Music Notes for Ghost In The Machine [Digipak]Free Music Review: Best Police album Hit: 5 Stars
I was a big Police fan when I was a younger kid, around 13 or 14 or so... I just recently got out all the old albums to listen to them. And they were just awesome...
But this one here is defnitely the best. If anyone is reading these reviews looking to buy a first Police album, I think you should go with Ghost in the Machine. Reggatta de Blanc may be just as good.. more raw and reggae-ish, whereas Ghost In the Machine has more electronic-age elements. Synchronicity is too "pop" for my tastes, and the other 2 albums are just okay. But from the lyrics here (very sociopolitally conscious) to the music (they were at the height of their creativitity)... and the way it all blends together... this is the ultimate.
Best song: Darkness
Other great songs: Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic, Invisible Sun, Rehumanize Yourself
Also, just as a note, the remasterers did a good job. It sounds good.
Free Music Review: My favorite overall POLICE CD Hit: 5 Stars
This cd by the police takes a deep end dive. It is very dark, very obsessive, and quite neurotic. Having said that, it spans the human emotion of paranoia, and sometimes even breaks a smile. I really love INVISIBLE SUN and how it can be counter acted by a song EVERYTHING SHE DOES IS MAGIC ... even though considered a happy song, the song itself is still filled with fear. Then, if the cd wasn't cool and damp, you have the wonderful song DARKNESS.. and OMEGAMAN. What a prozac nation Sting was when he made this CD, no wonder the band didn't get along, just look at STINGS lyrics... anyway, a genius of composition and construction and by far and away my favorite Police.
Free Music Review: A Great, Socially-Conscious Police CD Hit: 5 Stars
GHOST IN THE MACHINE is a great CD by the Police, and also their most politically- and socially-conscious release ever. Songs such as "Spirits In The Material World", "Invisible Sun", and "One World (Not Three)" call for people to try to work together and resolve things peacefully, rather than fighting each other, while "Too Much Information" is an attack on the corporate world. "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic", on the other hand, is a love song as only Sting can write one. Sting's opposition to Indonesia's trumped-up 2005 drug-smuggling conviction of a young Australian tourist makes this CD an essential purchase for both your ears AND your conscience.
Free Music Review: Genius Is As Genius Does!! Hit: 5 Stars
This classic album was my introduction to the 80's
megalith which was simply The Police!
I was in the military at that time and one of my roommates
turned me on to them as well as Bob Marley, for which I am eternally greatful!--(Thanks JG!)
Anywayz, just put it on from start to finish and there's no garbage tracks like so many albums of today!
I still listen to this and the other Police masterpiece
"Synchronicity" as if it were the early 80's all over again!
Free Music Review: Another Classic From The Police Hit: 5 Stars
Another excellent Cd by Sting and the police. The theme and sound of this Cd is mostly darker than their others though that doesn't stop almost every song being catchy enough to drive you insane, especially songs like "Hungry For You", "One World" and "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic". And unlike almost everyone else, I enjoy "Demolition Man". A essential album from the police. Best Song - Spirits In The Material World Worst Song - Darkness
