Free Music Notes for Tribute to Arthur Guinness AlbumFree Music Review: Bastard Sons of Shane MacGowan and the DKM Hit: 5 StarsGermany's The Porters - a new requirement for diehard fans of Celtic Pub/Punk made infamous by bands such as the early Pogues, Shane MacGowan's solo works, the Tossers, and the Dropkick Murphys. The 17 Guinness soaked tribute tracks offered up are mostly covers (Leaving of Liverpool, Sam Hall, Rising of the Moon, etc.) and are more in the Murphys' Oi vain of punk than the Pogues traditional sound. The Porters' release even contends with and surprisingly sometimes surpasses the latest release by the Murphys. A highly recommended soon to be pub punk classic. Slainte!
