Free Music Notes for DummyFree Music Review: The mother of Trip - Hop Hit: 5 StarsThis album was the soundtrack of my teenage years, and i still listen to it. Beth Gibbons sings with her soul... this is the best portishead album, and the best trip hop album ever. Love it.

Free Music Review: Beautiful... Just Beautiful Hit: 5 StarsThis album is one of the few that you can listen to without once touching the "skip" button (unless of course you want to hear "Sour Times" or another favorite song again). I was surprised by how substantial the songs were; there was always something to the songs other than mere fluffy prettiness (the spy overtones in "Mysterons" and "Sour Times," the lyrics in "Glory Box" and "Roads", the palpably tentative start to "It's A Fire"). Maybe it isn't very persuasive simply to call an album "beautiful," but after feeling how this one turns dull, stressful afternoons into enchanting memories, I can't find a better adjective.
Free Music Review: Still Good After All These Years Hit: 3 StarsMy brother hipped me to this CD a long time ago. He was listening to it and I wanted to know who it was. He told me, so I went out and got it. I liked it then and while listening to it a few nights ago, I remembered how much I still like it. I can't even describe what kind of music this is and how wonderfully strange the lead singer's voice is. Heck, I still don't know anything about Portishead except for the fact that I really like this CD and Glory Box is my favorite song here. I call it the cheeba-smoking music.
