Free Music Notes for Pride & Prejudice [Music from the Motion Picture]Free Music Review: Beautiful score Hit: 5 Stars
I am confident that Pride and Prejudice would not have been a box office success had it not been for Marianelli's score. For those with a trained ear, the understated and yet powerful pieces were the highlight of the movie. For those without musical knowledge, the ebb and flow of the music, tied in perfectly with each scene, still heightens the sensation and emotion of the film. For instance, "A Postcard to Henry Purell," with it's stirring violin performance, creates the mood for the dance shared between Darcy and Elizabeth - a mood of seduction, and yet hesitation...perfection. Many other pieces have the same affect - as the other reviews have pointed out in detail. The music is a joy to listen to on it's own, although I dare say that with the change from one song to the next, you will also visualize each related scene from the film.
Free Music Review: Best movie soundtrack of all time! Hit: 5 Stars
What makes the Pride and Prejudice soundtrack by Dario Marianelli the best? It's so good that you would want to heard it throughout the day, while you're driving, while in your shower, while you're cooking, while doing chores around the house, even while watching my kids play in the park. I got the CD, downloaded it in my cell phone's MP3 and off i went into my classical, magical and elegant world of Jane Austen... even in the midst of my very ultra-mordern suburban life. I love the Black-eyed Peas, Justin Timberlake and the ENglish rockbands too, but sometimes, when you want to go about the day in the Elizabeth Bennet kind of mood, this is the kind of music that puts you into character, that enables you to walk elegantly, slow down and smile charmingly at your kids and husband... this is the soundtrack of my life.
Free Music Review: A personality of its own Hit: 5 Stars
I was slightly shocked when I read Amazon.com's review of this. "A monochromatic beige"? I think not. I have bought numerous other soundtracks in the past, hoping to love it as much as the movie it provided a background for; I have been, therefore, unhappily surprised when I couldn't even remember hearing the pieces from the soundtrack from the movie. This is what, to me, defines "failing to acquire a personality of its own." However, this soundtrack, I feel, is so integral to the beautiful spirit of the movie itself, one cannot help but be drawn back into the movie when they listen to it. I think it would be safe to say, though I am certainly not trying to put down any other part of this wholly fantastic movie, that the soundtrack made this movie what it was. It made the whole movie for me.
Free Music Review: Beautiful and stirring, a fitting album to remember the film by... Hit: 5 Stars
I don't buy many soundtracks, but I loved the film and its music so much I just had to have this one. The melodies and arrangements are soul-stirring and will take you back to the glorious English countryside where the best scenes took place. For me, breathtaking moments occurred in A Postcard to Henry Purcell, Liz on Top of the World, and Your Hands Are Cold.
As this is a soundtrack, several musical themes do reoccur, but they are wonderfully woven in with the orchestration such that they never seem repetitive or dull. The Military Marches In, Meryton Townhall and Another Dance lighten the mood periodically, before Marianelli pulls you back to nostalgia and romanticism, which I would consider the main feel of this soundtrack. I find it great listening, especially for quiet evenings in.
Free Music Review: Great soundtrack! Hit: 5 Stars
Like everyone, I loved Liz On Top Of The World, Your Hands Are cold and Darcy's letter. It's really succesful work of music. But there's something I'm curious at. I want learn which song is playing during at the end of the longer version trailer? It's not PM's Love song, because this was playing during the first trailer. The song I want to learn begins when Lizzie and Darcy look at each others and the camera turns around them. After that three of them walking towards to the manor. And it continues with the words of Lizzie "He's so.." "So what?" "So rich!" bla bla =) I know this was very detailed, sorry... This is the link of the longer trailer I'm talking about:
