With so many positive reviews, my words can hardly add anything. So I'll just say the music written for this film is sublime and the piano playing superb. The repeating melodic theme is simple yet hauntingly beautiful. Included here is one track of such rare beauty that it's hard to believe it wasn't from the hand of Beethoven or Mozart; it's the music for Darcy and Elizabeth's first dance at Mr. Bingley's ball. It's transporting, as is the entire CD. Free Music Review: wonderful

I love the original novel by Jane Austen with the same title. The screenplay is an abridged version that focused more on drama and cinematography rather than keeping true to Austen's prose. With this in mind, I still thoroughly enjoyed the movie. The acting was superb and characters were well chosen. My only disappointment was with the ending, which I choose not to watch in subsequent viewings. Free Music Review: delicious!!!

Perhaps this is not a classical masterpiece, but I find it to be achingly beautiful and would certainly recommend it as mood music. I don't care much for this version of Pride and Predjudice -long live Colin Firth as Darcy (BBC Version)- but, this music is lush and sweet and I feel the longing of it. To me it appropriately reflects the painful tension of the world's best love story.
