Free Music Review: Stepping into the Mediocrity Line

To start I loved this band. I bought their first album after hearing about ten seconds of one song. I played Introduction To Mayhem so much I wore out the CD, literally. They reminded me of Limp Bizkit on Three Dollar Bill Ya'll only heavier and with a little more groove to them. This was a band I saw great potential in. Unfortunately like some bands who have amazing debut albums that did well, they got stars in their eyes and wanted to become mainstream. In that lies the downfall of far too many great bands who could have achieved so much more had they stuck with their original formula. I don't want bands to take "new directions". I buy their friggin albums based on their previous works and that is what I want. Change can be good sometimes but do a song here and there not a whole album. If I had back the money that I wasted on bands albums that I loved and then turned out their "new direction" was one of crap I'd have a few extra thousand dollars in my pocket. The only redeeming song on here is "This Life" which sounds just like the rest of the music out there. They sound no different than Breaking Benjamin,Adema,Korn,Trapt, or a host of other bands that sound exactly the same these days. They had something new and different. Instead of following in the footsteps of such disappointments as Metallica,Limp Bizkit, Staind, Life of Agony, and Vision of Disorder they should have followed in the footsteps of such great bands as Slayer(who have not changed their sound in over 20 years and still kick ass), Hatebreed, AC/DC, The Rolling Stones and Biohazard. None of these bands has changed a thing and they still sell albums and although not mainstream( save The Stones and AC/DC) have huge followings. I just wish musicians would stop thinking of the money and more about the music, it's how you make your money ding bats
