..."masterpiece". All this album does is take me back to a place in time that is gone forever and that I wish so dearly that I could go back and relive again. It was a happier time in my youth and a sample of what the music business was like in the late 80's and early 90's. When will it ever be like that again? If you haven't ever heard this album or seen the movie (where have you been the last 2-3 decades?), I'm envious of you. "Purple Rain" is my very favorite Prince CD. I still listen to it often because it doesn't sound dated or old or boring at all. I also like "Purple Rain" because it totally doesn't sound like a typical soundtrack, especially a soundtrack from the 80'. My favorite song is "When Doves Cry." Such an illustrious song, and a great CD. Growing up I was a huge fan of Prince and Michael Jackson. The differences between Michael and Prince were very subtle; almost like the differences between "The Adams Family" and "The Munsters." No one in the whole universe will ever compare.
