Free Music Review: Orgy + Gravity Kills + Ministry= Prof. Murder Music

I first heard the song "Slow" off of the soundtrack to the action flick, "End of Days", with Arnold the Governator. Anyways, I found that song to be a highlight off that album. It had a cool style, and it sounded great being blasted out of my stereo. I bought their debut album shortly after it was released and it was one of my favorite albums of 2001. "Slow" was still a hightlight for me, being one of the best "play it loud" cruising in your car songs. But really, the whole album is solid. There are a handful of songs that could have become hits, if they had received more label support. "Fall Again", "Does It Dream" and "Darker" are really good songs.
If I had to describe them to someone, I would call them industrial alternative metal. They incorporate the pop influences of bands like Orgy, allowing them to come up with some great melodies and hooks. I can also detect some Gravity Kills influences, and maybe even early Filter. On some songs, they have a heavier edge that can maybe be attributed to bands like Ministry.
If I had to lump them into a category with bands that sound the most like them, I would have to include Orgy, godhead, Videodrone, Sinisstar, and Society 1.
If you are a fan of those bands, I would suggest digging up PMM's two albums, this one, and "Looking Through", because they are one of the better bands of this style to come out in some time. However, I have not heard anything from them since 2003, so they likely aren't together anymore. Most bands don't ever make it to a second album, so at least we have two to enjoy.
This album has a good variety on it. Some heavy, driving songs, and some more melodic, dreamy ones. The vocals range from clean, melodic singing, to harsher half-screaming. Most should enjoy the contrast, because it keeps the album fresh, not monotonous. Also, some dude said they were Korn ripoffs. I hear nothing remotely "Korny" about these guys.
