Free Music Notes for Pytor Illych Tchaikovsky: The Nutcracker - Complete Ballet AlbumFree Music Review: The Nutcracker Suite is one of the best scores ever written. Hit: 5 Stars"The Nutcracker" is one of the most celebrated and beautiful ballets ever performed, and "The Nutcracker Suite" is one of the best scores ever written. According to Mary Clarke: It seems always to have been part of our consciousness... we do not remember it ever being quite new. It tinkles, sparkles and enchants and takes us nearer to the world of the fairy tale than any other music by Tchaikovsky. "The Nutcracker Suite" is one of the most performed musical pieces worldwide, not just as a ballet, but also in the concert hall. The first performance was presented in Maryinsky Theater on December 18, 1892. "The Nutcracker Suite" is best known for its "March," "The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy," "The Russian Dance," "The Chinese Dance, "The Dance of the Mirlitons," and "The Waltz of the Flowers." In "The Nutcracker Ballet," during the March, the children got together for a little march. This march is very easy to recognize, because it has a lively left-right rhythm, which is set by clarinets, horns, and trumpets. Tchaikovsky brought a celesta from Paris and used it in the Sugar Plum Fairy; this instrument has a "tinkling" melody like a bell. The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy begins with a beautiful tone of the celesta that is continued by the bass clarinet. The Russian Dance is also known as "Trepak." This dance is very exciting because it gets faster and then stops. It is a Russian folk dance, which brings the music together as it proceeds. This dance is part of the Act II. The Chinese Dance is different than the others dances. It is begins, develops, and ends with a drumbeat accompanied by flutes. It is also known as the "Tea Dance," and the scoring includes the glockenspiel. The Dance of the Mirlitons is best known as the "Dance of the Toy Flutes." "A mirliton," is children's musical instrument that produces a piping sound. It consists of a piece of a reed covered at each end with a paper. "The Waltz of the Flowers" might be the most known and beloved piece of "The Nutcracker Suite." Tchaikovsky was a master of the waltz. Thousands of people would agree that "The Waltz of the Flowers" is one of the finest waltzes ever written. According to Joseph Machlis: "The Waltz of the Flowers . . . displays the full [sic] Tchaikovsky's gift as a composer of ballet music." The harp solo at the beginning of the dance easily characterizes "The Waltz of the Flowers." The Nutcracker is perhaps Tchaikovsky's most celebrated display of virtuoso orchestration, filled with special effects. Some of these effects are celebrated, such as the use of the celesta (for the first time in Russian Music) in connection with the "Sugar Plum Fairy." Although Tchaikovsky's dead, he lives in our heart; the music inspires the people who listen to it; it works together with the story and makes the listener feel the ballet itself. "The Nutcracker Suite" is one of the most recognized scores ever written, and one of the most recorded selections. The combination of the ballet and the music, makes a powerful performance of the Nutcracker. Once somebody listens to the extraordinary music of "The Nutcracker Suite," they cannot put it away from their mind; it remains there forever. "The Nutcracker Suite" is a ballet about magic; it is so beautiful and lovely that takes the deepest part of someone to the most beautiful, unexplored, and unimaginable places.
