Free Music Notes for The Dana Owens Album AlbumFree Music Review: Better done by Karaoke Singers! Hit: 1 Stars
What's with these five star ratings??? Are ya'll hearing impaired? I have heard karaoke singers croon more expressively through bent mics and tonally challenged amplifiers. And people wonder why the state of music is the way it is today, when celebrity can get you the breaks talented vocalists are denied. You know, Ms. Owens does a wonderful job entertaining as Queen Latifah, but Queen Latifah knows what she is good at. Dana Owens needs to find her stride, too, but this insipid CD ain't it. I must presume that the five stars are from the publicity department of the record company or simply motivated from misguided political agendas. And that performance on The Letterman Show left this music enthusiast simply embarrassed for the sistah. Can you say COMMUNITY THEATER?? Ms. Latifah/Owens needs to stick with what she knows or seriously invest in a good vocal coach. I'm sure she can do it with a little training. After all, Madonna pulled off Evita. I mean, who woulda thunk it? One star given 'cause they would not let me give 1/2.
