Free Music Notes for Trav'lin' LightFree Music Review: Bravo to the Queen Hit: 5 Stars
Knowing that she was heading in this direction, the Dana Owens made an impressive start, with this cd - she rolls with it completely. Just buy the CD - I won't bother with the song by song description, let's just say that she has fine-tuned her inner Patti Austin and is running with it completely - there is not a missed beat on this cd - and from start to finish, you will find yourself loving the Queen more and more and can see that she is quite comfortably settling into her mature jazz voice with this collection of songs - can't wait to see her live on tour with this cd later this year...live will only add to the pleasure of hearing this woman find a new musical home! All Hail the Queen indeed!
Free Music Review: Superb CD........ Hit: 5 Stars
Once again, the "Queen" proves she can do it all. From the accoustic
"Poetry Man" to the electric "Betcha Got A Chick On The Side", all the way to the swingin' big band tune, "I Love Bein Here With You", the Queen interprets each and every song with her own great style. Give credit, however to the arrangers and producers, including the great Tommy LiPuma. The arrangements are superb, and therefore allow her to shine in each and every song.
I think I favor the "Dana Owens Album" over this one, simply because I prefer the song selections on that album over this one. However, this is a superb CD, as good or better quality than any I've heard in a long long time.
Free Music Review: AMAZING!!!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
I could not believe this was The Queen. I am a retired singer and always loved Queen Latifah's music, even rap:), and as a gifted actress. I was amazed at the versatility and sultry sounds that came from her wonderful voice. My nieces are teenagers and when I let them here this CD (I didn't tell them it was the Queen), they said that it was good, who is it? I told them Queen Latifah and they did not believe me until they sat there and listened to the entire CD and realized it was her. They have a new appreciation for jazz and blues and see it in a different light. Hail to the Queen!! Music has an amazing affect on teens. My nieces listen to this CD constantly. WOW!!!
Free Music Review: The Queen Reigns Supreme Again Hit: 5 Stars
What can I say about Queen Latifah and her latest musical endeavor? I can say that is phenomenal, funky, lush, and jazzy. The arrangements were superb and complimented Latifah's voice very well. The Dana Owens Album was bluesy, mellow, and sensual and gave fans a taste of the lush life, and Trav'lin Light takes her fans on a new journey with her unique renditions of some 70's pop and soul favorites, and some fantastic jazz and blues standards. Grab a glass of Merlot or Chardonnay, and kick back and enjoy the Queen who reigns supreme! It will make you feel good!

When I first heard Poetry Man on the radio, I didn't know it was Queen Latifah. After I found out it was Latifah, I was totally impressed with her versatility. I have always loved that song (since Phoebe days) and Latifah does it an awesome justice. I had to purchase the CD and since receiving it I haven't played too much of anything else. It has become one of my true favorites. There are not enough stars on the review scale to express my delight. I don't believe there is anything that the "Queen" cannot accomplish. This is the epitome of class!
