Free Music Notes for Queen of the DamnedFree Music Review: Totally awesome soundtrack!!! Hit: 5 Stars
I first saw the movie and I totally loved it. Both the movie and the music in it. So I went and bought a soundtrack. And my first impression was: 'WOW'. I must say this is one of the best soundtracks I have ever heard. It may be a bit 'dark' but it still is great hard-rock/metal music. All the songs are awesome.
Beside some great bands, such as Static-X, Papa Roach, Earshot, Deftones, Godhead, Disturbed and Marilyn Manson there are also a bit less-known Dry Cell, Kidneythieves and Tricky. Beside that, there are also a couple of songs featuring singers of some major bands of this genre: Jay Gordon of Orgy, David Draiman of Disturbed, Wayne Static of Static-X and Chester Bennington Of Linkin Park.
And the best of the best songs on this soundtrack are definitely the songs of this four. I especially like Not meant for me by Wayne Static, which I believe is perfect for this movie. It's dark and hard enough for it.
Free Music Review: One of the best Soundtracks I've heard Hit: 5 Stars
I bought this a couple of months after it came out, and well what can I say the title speaks for it self. The first song "Not Meant For Me" By Wayne Static is one of my least favorites on this album *Though yet Im not really big into Static-X*. The second track "Forsaken" By Disturbed is a song that won't leave you head, the second you think of Disturbed or QOTD will make you have Forsaken stuck in you head. System By Chester Bennington of Linkin Park is amazing, a little darker than normal Linkin Park songs, thats why it is amazing. Those are some of the songs that were made for the movie, while some of the rest such as, Deftones "Change" *one of my favorite songs from the Deftones, Disturbed's "Down With the Sickness", Static-x's "Cold", and Headstrong by Earshot, to add it all up if you are looking for a soundtrack with alot of Hard Rock bands then you found it.
Free Music Review: Immortal as ever ... Hit: 5 Stars
Actually, one of the first CDs I bought with my own money. That is to say, friends would BUY me CDs as gifts, or I'd still have those good `ole cassette tapes, but when I herd the music for Queen of the Damned, I just HAD TO HAVE IT. I did something I rarely like to do, and got out money from my bank and bought it up right away! I didn't even bother to wait the recommended week and a half after its release for a price break. It's refreshing to have such a great collection of songs on one CD. All the artists are amazing, and hats off to Jonathan Davis for being a true artist. It's great when you are in your room alone, and need some loud music to drown out the world. But you should be warned, it is quite easy play this soundtrack on repeat, and never take it out or replace it for days at a time. This might annoy your neighbors, but hey ... we're all trapped in this world, lonely and fading ...
Free Music Review: The most Solid Rock soundtrack to date ! Hit: 5 Stars
Really I haven't heard anything soundtrack wise this solid and offered anything eclectic since "Stigmata". This is a great work of art, to bad we can't say the same for the film. Done in the tradition of "Trent Reznor" this is a solid creative effort. The beats are on point the guitar riffs are only used when necessary. This in my opinion is nothing more than a "Nine Inch Nails" album with others singing over the tracks. Really and truthfully I can get into individual songs but it would be pointless. This cd doesn't get loud and annoying like alot of hard rock bands do. The hard parts (On this cd) serves as the climax of the songs. This cd has some really laid back creepy beats with great vocals. Just get it ! It is worth ever dime you will not be disappointed. If you like this get 1997's "Lost Highway soundtrack" it is very similiar.Arish
Free Music Review: A personal favorite... Hit: 5 Stars
Unlike many of the other reviewers, I bought this soundtrack without ever seeing the movie and without any intention of ever seeing the movie. I bought it for the excellent combination of some of my favorite artists (Jay Gordon of Orgy, Disturbed, Static-X, etc), and hopes to hear some great music I haven't heard all over the radio.I was not disappointed. Every single track on this CD is fantastic and I had no urge to skip any of them when listening to the cd for the first time. I thoroughly enjoyed songs by some of my favorite artists as well as the ones by artists I've never heard before. If you're a fan of darker beats, definitely get a copy of this soundtrack-- even if you're like me and have little interest in the movie it pertains to. The vampirish lyrics won't ruin the overall quality of this amazing CD for you!
