Free Music Notes for Queen of the DamnedFree Music Review: Why are there only five stars? Hit: 5 Stars
... The soundtrack is definetly one of the best I have EVER heard. The music makes a great deal of sense for the somewhat twisted story line of QOTD. Though I was dissapointed that John Davis's record label wouldn't allow him to sing on the CD I still think that the songs are great. Not Meant For Me, is absoulutley my favorite song, and coming in second is Slept So Long by Jay Gordon from Orgy, I'm a big Orgy fan, and when I first heard this song I got a big smile on my face when I heard Jay's distinct voice. My third fav song is either Body Crumbles or System, I'm not sure which, also I was lucky enough to download John Davis singing System so I get the best of two worlds, who cares what the record labels think? But I would definetly recommend this CD to anyone who likes the music portrayed on it. It's great.
Free Music Review: This is the best soundtrack I've ever heard!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
When I heard that Jonathan Davis of KoRn had produced the soundtrack and wrote five of the songs the soundtrack, I had to get it. But that's just because I'm a huge KoRn fan. But I teel ya this isn't a cool soundtrack just because he produced it and wrote some of the songs on it. This soundtrack is sick. It has awesome lyrics, a very hard beat, and a knock your teeth out lineup. The track listing is out of order on the cd, but if your good enough to know your bands, you'll figure it out. If you can't, the right track listing is on Amazon.com when you search and click on Queen of the Damned soundtrack. I would recommend this to anyone who likes the bands that are on the soundtrack the sound kicks and the lyrics cut you through. Go out and get this soundtrack!!!! It's the best.
Free Music Review: A soundtrack worth the price Hit: 5 Stars
Although the true highlights of this soundtrack are the five original songs by Jonathan Davis, I found this CD to be of consistent high quality. The assortment of artists proves most satisfactory, the songs meld together into one grand gothic anthem, and even if the movie wasn't to your taste, the music far surpasses it. This CD ranks up there, in my mind, with the original Crow soundtrack as well as Dracula 2000... Even if you haven't bought a CD in a long time, break the streak with this CD. Or, at the very least, find a friend to burn it off of. Granted, the only list of songs is on the CD itself, making it a little confusing, but the remedy for that is simple: listen to the CD enough times, so that you have the order memorized. Trust me, it's no chore.
Free Music Review: Best. Soundtrack. Evar. Hit: 5 Stars
After hearing "Forsaken" on the radio by chance I became obsessed with this soundtrack. I *finally* found out the details of the song and managed to download it online. But it was a terrible copy at a low bitrate and sounded bad, numerous compression artifacts. So I downloaded more and more, all flawed. Finally, I found a good copy, and also looked for other stuff on the album. All sounded bad (why do people encode music so poorly?)Fed up with the horrible encoding, I took the risk of all the other songs sucking and ordered it from Amazon. Woah... not disappointing at all. Well worth the cash. Best song is Slept So Long, followed by Forsaken and Redeemer. There are some other good ones too. Great soundtrack, and well worth the purchase.
Free Music Review: Haunting Hit: 5 Stars
Although many Anne Rice fans didn't care much for the movie, I myself enjoyed it. You must realize this isn't the book made itself. It is an adaptation of sorts - bits and pieces of 2 molded to make a stunning audio/visual experience. The music in this film is absolutely haunting. If you have ever read any of the Vampire Chronicles and created the characters and scenery in your mind then you undertand when I say haunting. The music takes you to a place you only imagined. You can almost feel the pain, lonliness and resentment in the music. It's as if you are transported to this nocturnal world in a way you never thought possible. The music is mysterious, exciting, relaxing and sensual all at the same time. A journey in itself worth every minute.
