Free Music Notes for Innuendo

Free Music Review: WWWWWOOOOOOOWWWWWW!!
Hit: 5 Stars

Oh my gosh, I just bought this CD today and finished listening to it. It is absolutely unbelievable, incredible, I don't know how to put it to words. "Innuendo" (the song) is among their finest, sort of a "sister" to Bohemian Rhapsody. The guitar interlude, AWESOME! The songs range from hard-rocking ("Headlong," "The Hitman") to humorous ("I'm Going Slightly Mad," "Delilah") to beautiful ("Innuendo," "Don't Try So Hard") to tunes that are very personal, emotional, and may draw a tear ("These Are the Days of Our Lives," "The Show Must Go On"). "The Show Must Go On" is probably the one song that really does it for me, Freddie is singing exactly what he was feeling during the INNUENDO sessions, he wanted to make as much music as he could before he died. Also at the end of the song, the words "go on, go on" echo and fade out, almost as if Freddie died while singing this. There is no better way to go out than with "The Show Must Go On." He was probably thinking "must continue, must continue." Not only did he continue, but some of his best vocal work, and some of the best vocal work ever, is on this album. I am proud of Freddie for his achievements at such a rough time in his life. This is probably the best Queen album, tied with CLASSIC QUEEN. Worry not, Freddie, the show will go on, go on, go on...

Free Music Review: One of Queen's peaks.
Hit: 5 Stars

INNUENDO is one of those rare albums where even though I don't care for two tunes, the rest are SO strong that they totally overshadow and make up for the lackluster ones (All God's People, Delilah). It is hard to lavish enough praise on this album. Queen put out one mediocre album after another in the 1980's. Sure, A KIND OF MAGIC and THE GAME had their high points, but INNUENDO is the bands strongest release since the 1970s. Talk about going out with a bang! Here Queen get back to their proto-metal roots.

The title track is an absolute monster, complete with gorgeous flamenco-style guitar interlude and walls of crushing Brian May guitar. "I'm Going Slightly Mad" and "Headlong" are two great tunes that are very catchy. "Headlong" is especially rocking. "Don't Try So Hard" is beautiful. It is the same type of tune that "Who Wants To Live Forever" is. It slowly builds in intensity. For a hard rocker check out "Hitman" and then the frosting on the cake; the awe-inspiring "The Show Must Go On" -one of Queen's greatest songs. Freddie soars on this one.

Thank God they were able to record this great album before Freddie passed. Despite his failing health, he sounds as strong as ever. This album is as important as NEWS OF THE WORLD, A NIGHT AT THE OPERA, and SHEER HEART ATTACK.

Essential.

Free Music Review: A fantastic ending...
Hit: 5 Stars

It's hard to believe that this is the last album Queen released as a foursome. Released in 1991, not too long before Freddie's death, this truly shows Queen at their finest. It's one of those albums you can listen to all the way through. Starting with the six-minute epic "Innuendo", and ending with the powerful "The Show Must Go On," this album is a must have for any Queen fan, or any rock fan for that matter.
1. Innuendo (10/10)
2. I'm Going slightly Mad (10/10)
3. Headlong (8/10)
4. I Can't Live with You (7.5/10)
5. Don't Try So Hard (9/10)
6. Ride the Wild Wind (8/10)
7. All God's People (7.5/10)
8. These Are the Days of Our Lives (10/10)
9. Delilah (8/10)
10. The Hitman (8.5/10)
11. Bijou (9.5/10)
12. The Show Must Go On (10+)
The last song on the CD is, in my opinion, one of the best Queen songs ever. As you listen to Freddie sing, it's not apparent in any way he was ill. His voice was still as beautiful as ever, and he went out at the top. It pains me to listen to the song, because it seems like a song Freddie wrote about his battle with his illness. "The Days of our Lives" seems like Freddie's farewell song. When he says at the end, "I still love you," I tear up. Freddie Mercury was the best songwriter/singer/performer that I have ever known, and I will remember him forever!

Free Music Review: slightly mad...but must go on
Hit: 5 Stars

It's no secret. Queen does what they want and how they want. This album is no exception. From the first song to the last, you get amazing lyrics committed by the whole band and hair raising music. Innuendo must be one of the greatest albums of all time. It has such a force and overall feeling thru out the whole thing. We all know Freddie was dying during the making of this and that just gives it more strength. To think he could push on and sound so great when any other singer would have been worn down and would have given up. Every song on this album is just huge. from "innuendo" to "bijou" it's almost too much to take in on the first listen. to actually feel yourself losing it on "i'm going slightly mad" and to feel your blood pulse with "headlong" and your heart smile on "these are the days of our lives". Before I conclude this I will talk about my favourite Queen song and probably one of the greatest..."The show must go on" was almost like the last stand of Queen. One of the only times where Queen basically reached out to the people listening to it. Queen, not usually the most personal band made a huge statement by one line and everyone that listens to it, knows it's more than just the last song on the album. it was almost like their thank you to us. Well thank you Queen.

Free Music Review: QUEEN'S FINAL MASTERPIECE
Hit: 5 Stars

After finishing "The Miracle", QUEEN went straight to recording this album. This is quite possibly Queen's most personal work as it was recorded during Freddie's last days.." He was in incredible pain throughout and often had to rest for long periods. Queen did not know if Freddie would even live long enough for the album to be completed. The album, comprised of songs dealing with mortality, sadness and yet, the light at the end of the tunnel, leaves you with mixed emotions. Not to the quality of the songs but what you actually feel inside. It all begins with the epic, title track "Innuendo", recalling the glory days of "Bohemian Rhapsody" with it's THREE styles of music included...it's lyrical nature very Zeppelin-esque."I'm Going Slightly Mad" sounds like The Cure with pep.The album's emotional weight comes from two main tracks. "These Are the Days of Our Lives" has Freddie "going back through life on a roller-coaster ride", reliving his past joys. "The Show Must Go On"...even with AIDS ravaging his body, his voice was never stronger singing with courage "My make-up may be flaking but my smile still stays on..." & "I'll face it with a grin, I'm never giving in.."This album isn't all morbid as evidenced by the all for nothing rockers "Headlong" and "The Hitman". Even silliness reigns with Freddie's own dedication to his favorite cat in "Delilah".
