Free Music Notes for Innuendo

Free Music Review: in my oppinion, Queens best
Hit: 5 Stars

after a long string of so-so with a couple of very good albums, since 'Day at the races', Queen finely came out with a masterpiece out doing 'Sheer heart attack'. This is currently my 4th favorite album ever although freddie mercury 'Barcelona' is very close'.

I don't know how 'Show must go on' could possibly fail to be a number 1 hit for say about 15 weeks or so and a platinum song 5 times over. It seems impossible to me NOT to love this song. It is my 3rd queen favorite followed by 'All gods people' 4th (probably the song with the most powerful queen harmony). ('ferry fello..' and 'Bohimian rhap..' are 1 and 2) all four I give 5 stars meaning that they are in my top 15 songs of all time period. Actually 'Show must go on' is easily in my top 5. The symphonic accompaniment (pardon my spelling)would make an excellent instramental by itself, then add an increddible and emotional melody with powerful queen harmony. Should have deffinataly been a huge hit.

I can't live with you is also in my queen top 10, a strong 4 star and 'head long' is not very far behind. Innuendo I would give mabey a weak 4 star or strong 3 1/2 (B+ to A-) star. the rest are no worse then 3 stars (or B)

Free Music Review: Don't mean to comment twice, but...
Hit: 5 Stars

This album is just unbelievable. There is nothing on this album that I don't LOVE!!! I bought this album after buying CLASSIC QUEEN, and becoming hooked. This could not have been a more perfect swansong for Queen, as it is just so perfect in every way. "Innuendo" is such an incredible song, the spanish guitar interlude just blows me away. The vocals on "Don't Try So Hard" are absolutely beautiful. "The Show Must Go On" is one of the best Queen songs ever, a great way to go out. Another thing that blows me away is the fact that Freddie was so weak during the recording of this album. Freddie has never sounded better. It makes me both happy and sad to hear it, happy because the songs rock and the vocals have never been better, and sad because it was Queen's last, and Freddie died from AIDS only months after filming the final video for the album ("These Are the Days of Our Lives"). Freddie may never have felt worse, but he never sounded better. This is without a doubt Queen's best album, and is definitely somewhere on my top ten album list. Long Live the Queen!!!!!

Free Music Review: Defiant To The End
Hit: 5 Stars

As final musical statements go, this album has it all- tragedy, humour, defiance in the shadow of death and disease, fond reflections of the past, enjoyment of the moment and hopes for the future. I first heard this album on it's release when I was 8 and I had no idea at the time of Freddie's battle with AIDS- it was the most impressive album I'd heard at that age and now at the age of 23, this album continues to impress me and now having known what Freddie and the rest of the band went through to put this album together only increases it's emotional impact for me.
'Innuendo' is a jaw-dropping opener to the album, it manages to be both epic and intimate without intimidating the listener. 'I'm Going Slightly Mad' is their most under-rated single, funny and engrossing! 'Don't Try So Hard', 'Bijou' and 'The Show Must Go On' all give me goosebumps. 'Ride The Wild Wind', 'Headlong' and 'I Can't Live With You' are all joyous and brilliant songs. 'Delilah' is cute and amusing!
Along with 'Sheer Heart Attack' and 'A Day At The Races', 'Innuendo' ranks among the greatest of Queen's albums.

Free Music Review: Freddie's swan song.
Hit: 5 Stars

It was 1991. Rock was about to lose one of its icons. Freddie Mercury, lead singer of Queen, was dying of AIDS and eventually succumbed to the disease. But before they did, they released one last album, sort of as a farewell. It became one of the best of Queen's new albums, and for a good reason.

The songs in this album range from hard to just plain haunting. The track opens up with the album title track, a progressive track involving many instruments, including a Spanish guitar. It then goes on to "I'm Going Slightly Mad," with its haunting keyboards and allusions to madness with its lyrics. Then it goes into "Headlong," a more enthusiastic song that's fast paced. The songs then range from rockers to songs about Freddie's pet cat. Songs such as "The Hitman" are straight up guitar, while tracks such as "Deliah" are more synthesized. Then, the album ends with another eerie track, "The Show Must Go On," which is Freddie's last song and one with probably the most meaning.

This is an album that's high reccomended, especially for Queen fans.

Free Music Review: Final Act
Hit: 5 Stars

I'm a relatively new Queen fan, but I bought this album on a whim and I'm delighted I did. The good songs on this album are really great, and even the subpar ones are regularly listenable. "Innuendo" is a great title track, a sweeping, extended song with excellent guitar work and great buildup. "Headlong" is a fun rocker with a catchy chorus and some great singing. "The Show Must Go On" is one of the most startling and meotionally raw songs I have had the pleasure of listening to. I could listen to it all day. You can just feel the tangible emotions in Freddie's voice, which has never sounded so powerful and unheeded. I would buy the album for these three tracks alone, but add "I'm Going Slightly Mad", "I Can't Live Without You", "Don't Try So Hard", "These Are the Days of Our Lives" and "The Hitman", and I'm sold. Even the lesser tracks, especially "Delilah" and "Bijou", still have some redeeming qualities. All in all, a great album, made all the better and more heartfelt by Freddie's regrettable death. One of the few albums that can get me misty-eyed.
