Free Music Review: Let the Bicycle Race begin!
Hit: 5 Stars

This is a GLORIOUS example of Queen at a creative high point. The only song I do not enjoy on this album is track one, "Mustapha". But don't let it fool you. The rest of the album is sterling. My personal favorites include "Leaving Home Ain't Easy", "Jealousy", and "In Only Seven Days". LHAE has sweetly sad harmonies which convey the perfect touch of heartache. "Jealousy"... what can one say. Freddie's vocals on this one are flawless. And John Deacon reaches his usual songwriting pinnacle of greatness with the lovely IOSD. As for the rock-ier songs, "Let Me Entertain You" is a riptide. One can't help but air drum at 'we give you rock a la carte'. And "Dead On Time" is a limit-pushing growler. All in all, not *quite* my favorite Queen album, but close (in the top five, I believe). _Jazz_ has got something for everyone, so give in and let Queen entertain you...

Free Music Review: underated
Hit: 5 Stars

Queens "Jazz" seems to get over-looked somehow. Could the order of the songs have something to do with it? because i find very little to complain about. some of the reviews i'v read here are down right dumb. The hits "fat bottomed girls/bicycle races" and "don't stop me now" are queen at their best. other great songs include the ballads and among my favorites "Dreamers ball" and Jealosy and the hard hitters entertain you and dead on time. "jazz" is another great album from Queen. I think queen fans put this album down because it's not as strong as opera, or Queen2, sheer heart attack, but jazz is not far from their best. The one small complaint i have is the album should have ended with "don't stop me now" cos "more of that jazz" is the only weak track to be found. the rest of the album is a great listen.

Free Music Review: One of Queen's best albums...
Hit: 5 Stars

Wow. Simply, wow. This album slams you from the very beginning of the first song, "Mustapha," and keeps beating you over the head mercilessly with Queen's absolutely masterful rocking. The entire album is one of their most cohesive, and highlights all the members' insane musical abilities, from Brian May's intense guitar work ("Dead On Time" is an excellent example) to Freddie Mercury's piercing vocals. This album is just good fun and good music. Queen's tongue-in-cheek sense of humor is rampant ("Let Me Entertain You" and "If You Can't Beat Them"), and this album is polished and sharp in its manic pace. This album is for the listener looking for an album to just let loose and rock out to. It's not a casual listening album, but it is guaranteed to entertain you, no pun intended! With the possibility of redundancy on my part, it's GREAT!

Free Music Review: Underrated
Hit: 5 Stars

Freddie Mercury's work on this album is stunning. "Bicycle Race" is one of the greatest rock songs ever written. Simple, and yet amazingly complex at the same time. "Mustapha", "Don't Stop Me Now", "Let Me Entertain You", and "Jealousy" are all superb rock songs that are worth anyone's listen.

Brian May serves up excellent songs on this album. From the chauvinist "Fat Bottomed Girls" to the care-free "Dreamer's Ball", May provides great guitar arrangements and solid song structures.

As for the contributions from Roger Taylor and John Deacon, they are well done. "More of that Jazz" (written and sung by Mr. Taylor) makes for a splendid finish to a fine album. Check out those vocals!

Free Music Review: Everything that makes Queen so much fun
Hit: 5 Stars

JAZZ is Queen at its best. What other band is willing to open up with an Arabic rocker ("Mustapha") and then kick into the wickedly funny "Fat Bottomed Girls?" The CD shifts from the plaintive cry of pain on "Jealousy" to the truly surreal "Bicycle Race," (Which still holds up despite the dated references) without pause. Rockers like "Dead on Time" and "Fun It" share space evenly with Deacon's self-help numbers and Mercury's totally over the top "Let Me Entertain You." That last song sums this CD up pretty well. I'm sure for some this one is too much of a mixed bag, with Queen visiting a variety of genres, but I feel this one encapsulates the band at its best; multi-talented and not afraid of taking more than a few chances.
