Free Music Review: Not enough good things can be said...
Hit: 5 Stars

...about Queen's "Made in Heaven". It is a magically beautiful final studio album. The vocal tracks were laid down by Freddy right before his death and additional vocals and instruments were added after he passed. For the most part, this is an album that is solemn, yet optomistic. It is not as popular as "Innuendo" but is basically in the same vein and though not as good, this is a Top-5 Queen album.

The title track sounds like a premonition by Freddy of what is about to come. His vocals are brilliant, and Brian May has some classic guitar on it. This is probaby the hardest rocking song on the disc.

"Mother Love" is a favorite of mine. It is extremely sad, and dark both lyrically and musically. It makes me think of a wounded soul thirsty for attention and love.

"Too Much Love Will Kill You" has a more pessimistic message: "I'm just a shadow of the man I used to be - too many bitter tears are raining down on me; In my tangled state of mind, I've been looking back to find where I went wrong." I believe this song was used mainly as a filler. It is a Brian May original that he wrote with some friends in the mid-80's, and he also performs it on the Freddy Mercury tribute concert. Therefore, I don't think it was a reflection of how Freddy felt, but it is still an awesome song.

The darker songs include the disco-track, "You Don't Fool Me," as well as "A Winter's Tale". Dark may not be the correct word, but it's not necessarily a happy feeling.

On a brighter side we have "Heaven for Everyone," "I was Born to Love You," and "It's a Beautiful Day."

Listen to the album yourself. It's so good, the feelings you will get when listening can only be felt, not explained.

Free Music Review: This is magic

That's clearly the only explanation for why this album is so perfect. When you know what Freddie and the band were going through at the time of making some of these songs, you will definetely feel this album alot more. I will go as far to say that Made in Heaven is a masterpiece.
It's a beautiful day- you will find yourself singing this on beautiful days. Doesn't get old. possibly the best non-hit opening to a Queen album.
Made in Heaven- One of the best songs on here, Perfection.
Let me live- Nice song, a must for a Queen fan to listen to because all 3 singing members sing in it.
Mother Love- Dark, passionate, Freddie's vocal farewell.
My life has been saved- nice song, again a must hear for a fan.
I was born to love you- One of Freddie's best solo songs, made even better for this album.
Heaven for everyone- A very good song, very passionate and a must hear.
Too much love will kill you- Awesome song.
You don't fool me- The most underappreciated song on here, The guitar solo makes this song as it is one of the best guitar solos I've ever heard it's brilliant, passionate, dark, and energetic
A winter's tale- Freddie's last written farewell. Very touching and inspirational. The guitar solo is the most passionate piece of music I've ever heard, you can feel this song.
Reprise- The song was so good you really won't mind hearing it again with more of a rock feel.
YYYEEAAAHHHH!- Freddie's favorite word to add on to a lyric
Last Track- A journey to heaven.

If you liked Innuendo, which many people do, you would have to like Made in Heaven. I find Innuendo is only slightly better. If you want an album with great guitar and passion Made in Heaven is essential.

Free Music Review: Proves that queen was great!
Hit: 5 Stars

It's amazing that 3 guys could go into the studio without freddie, with a few songs not considered good enough to be included on their two previous albums and with several bits and pieces of songs recorded just before freddies death and come out with something so beautiful and solid. Most amazing is how freddie mercury continued to record practically untill his death and sing so well.

Almost all these songs seem to fit a theme. While the tone is melancholy each song always leaves room for hope. Very powerful for a rock band that usually was intent on writing songs that were more humorous and fun. "It's a beautiful day" sets things off and it doesn't take much imagination to understand what "let me live" is about. "Mother love" is particularly moving. A song apparently referring to freddie's life long friendship with mary austin. This was the last song freddie recorded a song that denotes true friendship because he didn't live to finish it but his friends do finish it. Brian adds the finishing vocals to one of queens best songs ever. "Heaven for everyone" denotes queens catholic mentality and "a winters tale" is very very beautiful. "Too much love will kill you" is a good song that brian wrote some time before and sang solo at the tribute concert.

No this isn't the best queen album for those who want to rock and hear fantastic guitar flourishes or complex cord changes. It's peaceful, melodic and quite an exellent eulogy to a fine friend and great artist. I'm glad queen made this album and i do consider it essential for true fans. The message is to live each day to the fullest and never give up regardless of how difficult the circumstances. Music Review: A Farewell to Queen
Hit: 5 Stars In 1995, Queen fans got one last album from the Freddie Mercury led Queen. Although this album ranks with their best, it is not entirely new. My Life Has Been Saved was the b-side of Scandal. Too Much Love Will Kill You was recorded for The Miracle album. Brian May re-recorded it in 1993 for his Back To The Light record. Made In Heaven and I Was Born To Love you were tracks from Freddie Mercury's out of print 1985 album, Mr. Bad Guy. Basically only Freddie's vocals were kept. The instrumentation was given the full Queen treatment. Heaven For Everyone was recorded for one of Roger Taylor's side projects.

Ok, now on to how the record sounds. The album starts out with one of the few 'newly' recorded tracks, It's A Beautiful Day. This ballad features an amazing vocal from Freddie, considering his illness. He is in fine form. Let Me Live is a great track featuring a gospel choir in the background. Brian May and Roger Taylor share lead vocals on this track with Freddie. Mother Love is a sad, contemplative ballad about facing the end of one's life. Freddie couldn't finish this track so Brian May picks up the last verse. It works quite well. A Winter's Tale sounds like a holiday classic. Freddie seemed to be taking in all of his surroundings. He wasn't taking anything for granted. The album ends like it started, with a reprise of It's A Beautiful Day. Added at the end of the track is a piano sample from Seven Seas Of Rhye, a baby's cry, and a sample from an old Carole King song that Freddie covered in his pre-Queen days.

After all is said and done, this is a fitting farewell to rock's royal band. It does what all great artist's last albums should do, wondering what could have been.

Free Music Review: a fitting tribute to the king
Hit: 5 Stars

when i read a new queen album was coming out featuring freddies final recordings,i was the 1st in my area to buy it!?!
i would disagree with neoninfusion on its sound. it was a mix of new and 80's styles beautifully engineered to give the freddie fan a taste of his ranges on many levels.
the opening song "it's a beautiful day"with its first verse sung acapella, was freddie as we remember him.strong high pitched, and screaming at us to enjoy every day,as they are all a blessing and a wonder.
from the first song through the fourth it almost sounds as if freddie is begging for another chance."let me live ",with roger and brian joining him, trading singing verses, and the choir, makes for a powerful song."mother love" is a freddie looking back to when times were easier and he was comforted by the warmth of the womb.it is a haunting and eerie song, that i can not recollect ever hearing anything similar in their past, save for maybe queen 2.
then the music becomes 80's queen, upbeat, fast paced, and visions of past videos.
brian may recorded "too much love will kill you" on his solo album in 1985,but was not sung by freddie, but by brian.they do have similar pitch.
the most amazing song on this album is "a winters tale",absolutely the prettiest song, and if you close your eyes and listen to the lyrics ,you will fly like the geese, and ducks he tells us about.a fairy tale told in front of a fireplace ,only sung gorgeously.
this is a freddie album with great influence from his band mates, who unselfishly took painstaking efforts to honor their leader.
this is one of my favorite releases ever by the band, and it could be yours AWESOME.......
