Free Music Notes for Queen: Greatest Hits I & IIFree Music Review: Best with A Night at the Opera Hit: 5 Stars
Queen - Greatest Hit, Vols. 1 & 2, for those of you unfamiliar with Queen's influence, has the greatest songs you never knew were Queen. Whether you discover The Show Must Go On (that climaxed the film Moulin Rouge) the way it was originally performed or if you find yourself reminiscing- for those of you old enough to reminisce- about Flash Gordon; Queen - Greatest Hits, Vols 1 & 2, has your rock ballads and opera rock as well as the more rockin' side to Queen.
You might have sung We Will Rock You, We Are the Champions, and Another One Bites the Dust at your favorite sports arena without ever knowing you were singing Queen. While you might have dismissed Crazy Little Thing Called Love as Elvis- it's here. If you've ever seen Highlander the feature, your ears will start tingling when you hear A Kind of Magic. When Under Pressure starts up on the second CD, don't worry. Vanilla Ice didn't get in- Queen did it first with David Bowie. When you hear One Vision as the last song on this double album, you'll be kicking yourself trying to remember where you heard it before. It's all right, the answer is in the booklet.
Be careful when and where you listen to this double album because you won't be able to stop yourself from singing along and rocking out.
Buy A Night at the Opera with this collection and you'll own all the Queen you'll ever need. Queen will rock you.
Free Music Review: A great band. Hit: 5 Stars
Queen is my all time favorite band, I almost never get tired of them. They cover all different types of music, if you like hard rock, they've written hard rock songs, if you like mellow rock, they've written mellow rock songs, if you like songs that are inbetween both of those, they have those too. This set of greatest hits contains all of their great songs, so it's a good starting point if you're new to the band, since it doesn't have any of their experimental mess ups. Here are my favorites:
Bohemian Rhapsody:An absolute classic that blends all different types of rock.
Another One Bites the Dust:Awesome beat, it's impossible not to move while listening to that song.
Don't Stop Me Now: One of their less well known songs, but one of their greatest.
We Will Rock You:Arousing, a great song.
We Are the Champions:Classic, no other words can describe it.
Radio Ga Ga:Amazing lyrics, kick*ss beat.
I Want it All: Great hard rock. It actually became a rallying song for Black African Youth in South Africa during their civil rights movement.
Who Wants to Live Forever:Great, sad, mellow rock.
Invisible Man: Wild and eccentric. Awesome guitar solos.
The Show Must Go On:Sad, emotional, and awesome.
If you like bands such as Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and the Who, I'd reccomend this band for you.
Free Music Review: ROCK AS THEATRE Hit: 5 Stars
This double-CD is by far the most complete of all the greatest hits and best of collections by this theatrical UK band. Although they weren't always highly regarded by rock critics, Queen's popularity is remarkably enduring. That is perhaps explained by the fact that they didn't only offer over-the-top schlock-rock, but created remarkable versatile music, especially in the hit singles. This is best demonstrated on Disc One, where the faux-classical Bohemian Rhapsody appears next to the funky dance classic Another One Bites The Dust. There's also the rockabilly flavoured Crazy Little Thing Called Love, power ballads like the impressive Somebody To Love and anthemic numbers like We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions. On Disc Two my favorites include the catchy Under Pressure (with David Bowie) and the hypnotic, synth-driven Radio Ga Ga. Above all, Queen's strength lies in their gripping melodies, innovative arrangements and spectacular harmonies. Their best work dates from the seventies and eighties but even the later singles have lost none of their sing-along appeal. This is a great compilation of ageless songs from one of the top UK bands of all time and it comes with a fact- and photo-filled booklet tracing their history and their achievements. An album set that definitely ought to be in every rock lover's collection.
Free Music Review: What a Discovery Hit: 5 Stars
I've heard their song before but even two years ago I didn't even know their name. I grew up listening to emotionless alternative music which, I believe, blinded me from good music for a couple of years (damned MTV!). But, a couple of my friends told me about Queen and since then, I haven't kept them out of my mind. They are brilliant (to say the least). They are enduring. They are Queen. Now about the album. The first disc is amazing. Queen is one of the first bands that I've heard where the vocals carry the song. And man, can Freddie sing. Bohemian Rhapsody is the best and will always be. It is a mix of vocals and piano, a little bit of opera, and classic rock. Other songs that rock are Another One Bites the Dust, Killer Queen, Bicycle Race, Don't Stop Me Now, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy, Seven Seas of Rhye, We Will Rock You, and of course We Are the Champions. The second disc lives up to the image of Queen, but might disappoint the "Bohemian Rhapsody Type People. " Its a little less emotional and a little bit harder. Nonetheless, it's Queen! If there is one thing that you should get from this review it is BUY THIS RECORD (I cannot downplay the importance of the preceeding words). Buy it and enjoy as I did and will continue to do.
Free Music Review: One of the best rock bands of all time Hit: 5 Stars
Queen is one of my favorite rock bands that I just can't get enough of. I think that they're better than the beatles and equal to the rolling stones. DON'T BUY QUEEN GREATEST HITS. I mean, it has most of their good songs but is missing bohemian rhapsody. Are they nuts? This CD is more costly but is the best Queen collection out there.
Here is my list of their best songs (all on this CD!):
We Will Rock You- Great beat that they play at bball games. Whenever I hear it, I feel like standing up and dancing.
Bohemian Rhapsody-their best song. Flawless.
Under Pressure-Great song
I Want to Break Free-This is the song that was on that coca cola commercial. So awesome
Another One Bites the Dust-Classic. I love it.
Killer Queen-Crazy, tight song
We are the Champions-Not my fave but still 100% classic essential Queen
Somebody to Love-Slower song..sensational..one of the best
That is a shortened list as their hits go on. Queen is an unbelievable band with some one hit wonders you'll never forget. Bohemian Rhapsody is one of the best songs I have ever heard. It goes from slow to fast to CRAZY and back to slow.
A must own album. Essential.
