Free Music Notes for Queen: Greatest Hits I & IIFree Music Review: 'Cause it's Queen ... Hit: 5 Stars
OK, let's get this straight ... some younger fans tuned into Queen in the 80's and that's ok, but by then many original fans had tuned out and were busy making a living to keep up with all the trash that came out in that decade.
So down to business ... Disc 1 is home for me ... I know all the songs by heart and they are part of me. Five stars, even if some important ones are missing. Disc 2 you can thow in the trash can ... radio gaga pop garbage. Well maybe not garbage as it is Queen after all, but nothing here worth my while.
Queen stopped being Queen right after Live Killers ... how come that one is not listed on Amazon ? ... I swear I've seen it somewhere (other than LP and 8-Track, which I own !). Come on, let's have Live Killers back, it is the best. Ten stars !
Free Music Review: Princes of the universe Hit: 5 Stars
Let me just start by saying that I'm a Queen-oholic. These 2 albums contain some of Queen's finest works, and through the years you can just see how this outstanding band changed- yet maintained their unique sound. As these CD's proove- Queen songs are rich, full and filled with imagination and talent that is beyond compare. I just hope that people who don't know Queen and buy these albums are tempted to buy all of their albums- there's just so much more to know! It's Freddie's perfect voice and great piano playing, John's brilliant bass lines, Brian's amazing guitars and Roger's roaring drums- that's Queen. People, believe me when I tell you- Bohemian Rhapsody is not the end of the line. Not on these 2 CD's and defenitly not through out their 21 albums. 2 thumbs wayyyyyyy up!
Free Music Review: Innovators, comedians, flaming inspirations Hit: 5 Stars
Many who grew up during Queen's run of albums literally lived from one release to the next. Their original, tightly executed, driving tunes formed a backdrop for an entire generation of kids who had only Zepplin, Skynard, and Elton to fall back on.No one before and few since has combined rock with tight choral harmonies and a lead singer whose voice knows no range (see "Somebody to Love"). Queen's lyrics are always fun yet interestingly twisted, my favorites being "Killer Queen" and "Fat Bottomed Girls". Everyone on this page has said it in so many ways. A ground-breaking band, a well-chosen selection of hits and "artistic" favorites. If you've always likes "radio" Queen, pick this up and discover their true range.
Free Music Review: Classic Recordings. Hit: 5 Stars
I don't need to defend Queen seeing as everyone knows they are a great band. These two compilations serve very well as career spanning collections. Most of Queen's best material is right here, though die hard fans will suggest buying their individual cds. Great songs like "Bohemian Rapsody", "We Will Rock You", "We Are The Champions", "Another One Bites The Dust", "Crazy Little Thing Called Love", "Radio Ga Ga", "I Want To Break Free", "A Kind Of Magic", "I Want It All", "One Vision", "Innuendo" and "I'm Going Slightly Mad" are all here plus numerous other classics. These are must haves for any rock collector.
Free Music Review: Queen will always be remembered for the music of an era, BUT Hit: 5 Stars
Over here on MTV Europe the other day, I saw something that was immensely disturbing. Some British boy band, the name escapes me now but is irrelevant, was doing it's rousing rendition of "We Will Rock You". At first I thought "Blasphemy, Queen's publisher sold them out." Then, in the final shots of the video, who should appear but Brian May and Roger Taylor, in all their greedy, money-grubbing, fattened, old rock star glory. Sorry boys, but I know that Freddie's rolling over in his grave on this one. You sold him out. You sold your fans out. Much kudos to John Deacon for not stooping to your level. Sean Reed By the way, Amazon, there's something wrong with your age finder on #5. I'm actually 32 years old.
