Free Music Notes for Queen: Greatest Hits I & IIFree Music Review: Love it! Hit: 5 Stars
I'd previously had these on tape & have since worn them out from repeated listenings.
If you're a Queen fan or just someone looking to get into the band, this is a must have. It's got some of the best loved & well known songs, all of which make for wonderful listening. My personal favorite? Killer Queen. What makes this CD set even better is that there's a little informational booklet in here that gives a paragraph or two about the history of the song.
The only downfall of the set is that you'll probably find yourself singing the songs out loud & potentially embarrassing yourself. (Especially if you sing like a dying crow like I do.)
Free Music Review: They dont make good music like this anymore! Hit: 5 Stars
When queen was in their prime, I was a young child. I do have memories of hearing some of their more popular songs on the radio. Under Pressure and Another one Bites The Dust for example, are songs I heard over and over again. Now that im a bit older, I appreciate this bands musical contributions even more. Most of the songs on disc 2 seem to be 80's trash. Their 70's material in my opinion is just light years better then their 80's stuff. Although I will say that I think "Who Wants To Live Forever" is an exception. I first heard this song while watching Highlander in 1985. That and "Under Pressure" are definitely the gems of disc 2.
Free Music Review: ANOTHER MESSAGE TO WHIRLIGIG Hit: 5 Stars
How anyone could possibly say Green Day is better than Queen(Or even worth listening to)is beyond Me. Like 'em or hate 'em Queen is a group of talented musicians making good music. Like 'em(Which i don't) Or hate 'em(Which i do)Green Day seems to be built on endlessly repetetive power chords and origionality free guitar solos that any 9 year old with a couple of weeks of experience could master. Get a Life man. While i agree with you're recommendation of Dire Straits,(One of the greatest bands ever, and a group of amazing musicians)Green day Is Simply not the best... There's not even anything there that merits you're listening time.
Free Music Review: Something For Everyone! Hit: 5 Stars
What a lush, glorius voice Freddie Mercury possessed. And what a wide range of material here. From the Elvis Preley knock-off "Crazy Little Thing Like Love" to the operatic "Bohemian Rhapsody", Queen does it all- effortlessly. Queen was good at anthems- "We are the Champions" and "Another One Bites The Dust"- but the real treasures are found on Volume II! As the band's hits started waning, they became better. While the songs might not have been big hits, they're magic nonetheless. I finds myself playing this disk more than the first. This set is terrific. No filler at all.
