Free Music Notes for Queen - Greatest Hits

Free Music Review: Another One Bites the Dust....
Hit: 5 Stars

Ever since the dawn of man when man grunted to the melodic sounds of birds, there has been a longing to attain musical perfection and capture it on a CD. THIS IS THAT CD. This is the one that leaves them all in the dust, for Queen is the Champion and this CD will rock you forever! Need I say more? OK. I Will. The first time I heard Queen was on a sunny summer afternoon. I was chillin' to the hip tunes of my Vanilla Ice tape when I decided to turn on the radio and LOW AND BEHOLD I heard Queen and fell in love. Hearing a Queen song and not loving it is like gazing at the stars and not making a wish. LOVE, SCOOTERBRITCHES

Free Music Review: 5 stars-- but only if purchased with Classic Queen
Hit: 5 Stars

As others have noted (especially T. Reordon's 7/18/09 detailed review) the various "greatest hits" and "best of" collections of Queen are very confusing. For a variety of reasons this compilation leaves off songs that are so universally well known that they've become part of the culture (e.g. Bohemian Rhapsody and Under Pressure).

To cut to the chase, the way to go for an essential and succinct overview of Queen's catalogue is to purchase this one (the red cover) with Classic Queen. Then buy any individual albums from your own favorite Queen period (I'm partial to the early seventies work) for a perfect collection.

Free Music Review: This album was terrific
Hit: 5 Stars

I immensely enjoyed Queen's Greatest Hits and listening to fantastic songs like Bohemian Rhapsody and We Are The Champions as well as Killer Queen and many more.

All of the songs, even the couple I rated lower than the rest, demonstrated what a fantastic and beautiful voice the great Freddie Mercury had, and what terrific guitar skills Brian May had, and still has.

Two songs in particular - Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy and Seven Seas Of Rhye - didn't do much for me, but I still feel this collection deserves a five star rating because Freddie's voice was so strong and powerful in every track.

Free Music Review: Intersting Package of Hits
Hit: 5 Stars

Queen was a talented band, and there's just no questioning that. I have a hard time writing a review for this album, because I pretty much bleed Queen. I become greatly annoyed when someone thinks Freddie Mercury was the only real talent in Queen. This album doesn't help to promote my cause. But, if you are a casual Queen fan, as I once was, this will satisfy your needs. It has most of the hits, put together in an odd way none the less, but good. I give it five stars just as an overall. It might be missing some hits, it might have a few songs that really shouldn't be on there, but who are we to decide anyway?

Hit: 5 Stars

Hollywood Records released Classic Queen, a compilation that covered Queen's hits from 1982 to it's demise in 1991 with a few older songs thrown in. Then it released this album collection, its US version of Greatest Hits which is a 15-track album that deletes the songs from the first Greatest Hits [UK] version that also appeared on Classics (among them Queen's biggest hit "Bohemian Rhapsody") and adds a few tracks from the 1973-1982 era that did not appear on the original release label Elektra. Fans don't seem to have minded, as this other Greatest Hits CD sold better instead!
