Free Music Notes for Era Vulgaris

Free Music Review: If you don't like this album, you don't like music
Hit: 5 Stars

QotSA is a tremendous band...hands down. This album is "Sick, Sick, Sick". Great song after great song. Every true fan should "Suture up Your Future" and pick it up. I owe a great debt to knuckledragger07 because I took my hands out of my pants, got up from my Indian style position in the corner, and I haven't looked back...thank you knuckledragger07. After making "Misfit Love" to my wife, I drank some "Battery Acid" and listened to "3's & 7's" which should make R. Robertson puke 'cause its the best Queens song ever written...brings me back to their early albums, which I thought R. Robertson would enjoy....oh R. you dissapoint me. Well, I'm off "Into the Hollow" to listen to this kick a** album. Rock on!

Free Music Review: They are back and stronger than ever
Hit: 5 Stars

This album lives up to the high expectations I had for it after Lulubies to Paralize and the single Sick, Sick, Sick. LTP was a pathetic follow up compared to Songs for the Deaf. I am glad QOTSA is trying something new with their sound for this album. They've gotten a bit heavier and added some dance elements to their already Hard Rock sound. Sick, Sick, Sick is probably my favorite song right now, but the rest are growing on me as well. Era Vulgaris, or Common Era when translated from Latin, is a great album. The band thought it ment Vulgar Era, but it still works. Anyways, if you are new to QOTSA, try this album out then buy Songs for the Deaf. I promise, you won't be sorry you bought it.

Free Music Review: Another Classic From QOTSA
Hit: 5 Stars

Ever since hearing the song Sick, Sick, Sick I have been anxiously awaiting this album. Like every album by Queens this album moves in a different direction as far as sound. Standout tracks for me are Turnin' On The Screw, I'm Designer, Misfit Love, Make It Wit Chu, River In The Road, Suture Up Your Future, 3's and 7's, and Sick, Sick, Sick. There is not a bad song on here. I did download a Torrent for this album before it came out and the sound quality was really bad but after getting the cd I have to say this is another amazing album it also reminds me of Rated R in the fact that it is so schizophrenic. Now if I can only get the title track and the other bonus tracks out there.

Hit: 5 Stars

I really love this album. For some inexplicable reason, thus far, I hear all kinds of rad influences, like the Vandals, that I have never heard with QOTSA before. I get the feeling Homme wanted to make a pop album, but I don't write that in a derogatory way, but how Daydream Nation is a pop album. Every song has a pretty quick pace/beat, and there is more in your face/balls out rock than on previous efforts where before Homme played more with syncopating guitar lines. "Sick Sick Sick" is great. QOTSA is a metal band, like The Blue Oyster Cult is. Anyone who doesn't get that, doesn't get QOTSA, or rock 'n' roll for that matter.

Free Music Review: IT'S DIFFERENT but BRILLIANT!
Hit: 5 Stars

I've been a fan of QoTSA for what seems like forever now. All of their albums are unique and I have a hard time picking out what I believe to be my favorite. The morning after it's release I had the benefit of listening to Era Vulgaris all the way through. Several times. Through Bose headphones. I think the album is amazing. Anyone who doubts it should do the same--pop in some earbuds and really listen to everything that is going on in each song. Some songs stand out for me: Turnin' on the Screw; Into the Hollow; Misfit Love and Make It Wit Chu [that song makes me feel as sexy as Skin on Skin does]. Mmm! ~D~
