Free Music Notes for EmpireFree Music Review: One of the Best Albums Ever Hit: 5 Stars
Out of all the reviews that everyone has written for this album I don't think anyone mentioned that this re-release of this album is remastered in 24-bit. That may not mean much to most people but anyone that loved this album before will love it even more now. It sounds alot better than the original cd release. The differences may seem subtle to most but to me it is night and day and the additional tracks are amazing.I say for someone who likes or loves Queensryche that this is a must have. If you are someone who isn't sure if they like it or not then maybe start with the original release. But hey, seeing how it has more tracks, higher fidelity, and costs about the same as the original release, why not go with this release jsut for the simple fact its a better value as well.
Free Music Review: Can you hear it calling.....EMPIRE Hit: 5 Stars
This is an amazing album by the boys of Queensryche. I have to say this disc is inferior to Operation:Mindcrime however, but stands on it's own merits. The great guitar work of Chris Degarmo/Michael Wilton/Eddie Jackson, pounding drums by Scott Rockenfield, and the mesmorizing vocals by the great Geoff Tate draw you in and don't let go. There is just something about Queensryche that takes me to a different place when I listen to them. I think everyone who's into rock/metal should have either this cd or the superior Operation:Mindcrime in their collection. Definately 2 big albums of the late 80s/early 90s. Buy it and get mesmorized by the amazing music that the Ryche does blasting through the speakers.
Free Music Review: High Energy album -- Must have! Hit: 5 Stars
I have never been much of a Queensryche fan but this album is one of my favorites in my collection. I ended up chasing them down and checking them out with Suicidal Tendencies after listening to Empire. I gotta say Suicidal gave them a run for their money entertainment wise but I digress. Back to the review; this album is high energy throughout and with its clean baselines and clean sounds its secured a place in my mind as one of the better albums of my generation. If you have not heard this album, give it a shot and I think you will be pleasantly surprised. I reconnected with it recently and it is just as good as it was back then.
Free Music Review: Queensryche remastered Hit: 5 Stars
This album will always be a classic. It is full of great musicianship and Geoff Tate is obviously one of the great rock singers of all time. However, it has never sounded this good before. The remastering gives a great deal more punch to the album and the bonus tracks are just as good as the rest of the songs on the album. I only wish that they had been put on it in the first place. The production of this album is exceptional and Chris Degarmo was really writing some amazing material at this point in the bands career. For those who are fans of Progressive Metal this is an album that is essential for your collection.
Free Music Review: commerical doesn't mean crap! Hit: 5 Stars
When listening to music, you can get caught up in the ole," well if it is commercial, then it's crap." That is simply not the case with Queensryche's Empire. The lyrics are thought provoking like in the title track, and emotional like in "Silent Lucidity." I enjoyed the album because of the vastness of the subjects and the playability of the songs. i have listened to this album so much that my family knows all the words and i cant stop. If you enjoy music simply for the fun of it and want an album that is interesting as well, this album would be great!
