Free Music Review: Queensrych being Queenryche
Hit: 5 Stars

The only thing to expect from Queensryche is that each album will be different from previous albums and Operation:Mindcrime II is no exception! They bring you to the edge and back while spinning a compelling story that only they can offer. You've wondered; What happened to Nikki?, Who killed Mary?, What about Dr. X? Queensryche has made you wait 18 years for the answers and there is no doubt that in the end the wait was worth it. But it doesn't have the same feel as the first? Of course not. Things have changed, attitudes, behaviors, beliefs. The music has changed with the story and it's characters. They take you on Nikki's emotional rollercoaster of relief, expectations, goals with an underlying tone of sadness and longing. Don't let anyone tell you different, it's a quality album that is worth having and listening to over and over. Queensryche wouldn't be Queensryche if they followed the pattern of other bands and gave you the same thing on every album. If you're dissappointed with this, you don't understand, and should probably be listening to Dave Matthews or some other redundant band.

Free Music Review: Great Follow Up to a Classic
Hit: 5 Stars

Now I know some of you have read the closed minded (this is what Queensryche should be and they should'nt of done this record) people. The ones that like to categorize and pigeon hole things and put them in a nice little package for the American Consumer(sucker) to eat up.

Now listen to someone who can stop and actually hear what's going on on this record. Is it better than OMI? No. However it is the best thing they've written since OMI. Great riffs, Screaming lead guitar parts, Geoff Tate is on fire. His voice isn't what it used to be but it's still one of the best set of pipes out there. Orchestrative stuff, Choir, Monk chants, Mary and DR. X (Pamela Moore and Ronnie James Dio)). So much to like so much to appreciate.

This is definetly not an album you can take in on one listen. You have to listen to it a few times to let it grow on you. Unfortunately these days people want their satisfaction so fast whats the point of listening to something more than once and trying to appreciate it? You'd be missing something if you didn't pick up this CD.

Free Music Review: They still got it!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

Being a HUGE fan of QR pretty much from the start, I wasn't sure what to expect with this album. I am thrilled to say I absolutely LOVE this album. I have to admit though, it took some getting used to. But the more and more I played it, BEGINNING TO END AS IT'S MEANT TO BE, the more it grows on you and the emotion of it all comes out as you catch the little intracacies hidden within the music that adds to the story. In my opinion, some of the negative reviews out there are without warrant. Either they don't fully understand the story or don't fully understand QR in general and are taking this album for face value after listening to it only once or twice. To quote Geoff Tate, "this is an album that demands your attention". Please take that to heart and really give this album a chance, it ROCKS!!!! And, this album DOES answer all the open questions that a few seem to think were left open... just gotta know what to listen for! The story isn't completely told by words alone, keep that in mind while listening. It's so great to have QR back!!!!!

Free Music Review: Operation: Mindcrime II - Get it!!
Hit: 5 Stars

Wow!! This is an awesome release from Queensryche. I'm a Ryche fan and the first OMC is my favorite album. The more I listen to OMC II the more I love it. Yes, it's different than the original, but why do we want to hear the same thing over and over again? Geoff Tate's vocals are chilling as always, the guitar work and drum beats are harder and heavier than I've heard from Queensryche in a long time. Ronnie James Dio as Dr. X on "The Chase" is brilliant. Pamela Moore's beautiful voice as Sister Mary is another treat. "The Hands, Hostage, Re-Arrange You, A Murderer?, Signs Say Go, All The Promises and The Chase are my favorites.... that's practically the entire album! Those who are disappointed I would suggest listening to it a few more times. The more I hear it the more I love it, you might too. I was so excited to have Nikki's story continue and I couldn't be happier with where Queensryche took it. Get yourself a copy and then go see them live!! You will love it all. OMC I & II performed in their entirety??? Come on!!

Free Music Review: 6 WEEKS LATER!!!!!!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

I STILL CAN'T STOP LISTENING TO THIS CD!!!!!!!!!I THINK THAT SPEAKS VOLUMES FOR A CD.... FOR EVERYONE READING THE REVIEWS ,TRYING TO DECIDE WHETHER OR NOT TO BUY THIS CD,kEEP IN MIND THAT RAGE FOR ORDER & THE WARNING WERE NOT APPRECIATED IN THE BEGINNING EITHER.........
"Their first full album for EMI, The Warning, was comparatively disappointing, failing to live up to the promise shown on the EP, particularly in the poor mix, which was the subject of some concern for both the record company and band. Only "Road To Madness" and "Take Hold Of The Flame", two perennial live favourites, met expectations. Rage For Order followed in 1986 and saw the band creating a more distinctive style, making full use of modern technology, yet somehow the production (this time from Neil Kernon) seemed to have over-compensated. Although a dramatic improvement, and the first genuine showcase for Tate's incredible vocal range and the twin guitar sound of DeGarmo and Wilton, the songs emerged as clinical and neutered."
