Free Music Notes for ...And I Feel Fine: The Best of the IRS Years 1982-1987

Free Music Review: Best of their best years!
Hit: 5 Stars

This brings back all the energy and enthusiasm, that while not totally diminished, has evolved in their music. (sic) "Ah, to be young then was very heaven." Not that today is so bad. Listen to 'Finest Worksong' - 1987, then something from 'Nevermind' Interesting, no?

They put on one of the best live shows back then as well, saw them at Radio City with 10,000 Maniacs right after they left IRS. Great band and great selection of tunes!

Free Music Review: Great Collection
Hit: 5 Stars

This is a good buy for new listeners as well as old fans. It's good to hear the early stuff in a collection like this. Brings back many memories and recreates many moods. I am disappointed by recent REM recordings, but we always have music like this to appreciate. A must even for diehards. Nice packaging, too, with comments on many of the songs by the band members included in the accompanying booklet.

Free Music Review: Buy the 2 CD version only !!
Hit: 5 Stars

For any detractors the 2 CD deluxe version is the only version to get PERIOD The one disc version has been covered but the second disc is worth the entire price.

For my money $15 is an amazing deal to get 42 songs from the first five wonderful years of REM. I haven't got it yet but assume the DVD is equally great.

Thanks

Free Music Review: IRS Years Some of the Finest for REM
Hit: 5 Stars

Brings back a load of fond memories, listening to this set. Both discs are essential in my opinion. Remastering is superb as is the song selection. An automatic purchase for all REM people.

Free Music Review: A great collection
Hit: 5 Stars

This is a great collection of songs, especially for those that don't own Eponymous. The second CD, which contains alternative cuts also gives insight into the production process of the band.
