Free Music Review: R. Kelly's Chocolate factory
Hit: 5 Stars

R. Kelly is truly the greatest rhythm and blues singer of all time. With great hits like "Bump and Grind," "Seems like you are ready," and "Feeling on your booty," Kelly delivers again with his best album to date, Chocolate factory. Even with all the events that are surrounding him, he still finds a way to be an extremely talented writer, producer, and artist. On his latest album, great songs are found on every track. Unlike other albums, instead of listening to one or two songs, with R. Kelly's Chocolate factory, you will find yourself listening to the album over and over again.
One thing that makes this album so great is the lyrics. R. Kelly is known for getting right to the point and while trying to get there, having no interruptions is always. For example, in the song "Marry Me," instead of him making an entire song on how good the marriage is going to be, he keeps it open by giving things that are going to be good in the marriage while telling you the terrible things as well. Listeners are surprised by Kelly's lyrics because Kelly gives the bad reasons, but listeners can't help but look forward to the make up that makes the break up all worth it. In his song "Imagine that" he talks about him and his wife arguing and his wife telling him to take out the garbage. On the other hand, he says right after that "come on in, close the door, take off you clothes, and change some more. Say my name. Say my name." Even though arguing is not good, but after Chocolate factory, you would want to do it over again. With the great lyrics, since Kelly writes and produces his own music, he gives off great beats at the same time. Kelly's beats are known to get a person up out of there seat and make a person move with it. Even the slow, love songs will have a listener at least snapping there fingers. An example of this is in the song"Snake." The purpose of the song is to make everyone get out of their seat and do the snake. A listener is going to move with the beat again because of the lyrics and the rhythm.
In addition to the great lyrics and beats, Kelly's has great credibility. If all of his past albums were great hits and great sellers, why would Chocolate Factory not be the same? Classic albums include Twelve play, R., Twelve play two, and R. Kelly's greatest hits which all went on to reach platinum selling status. Also, when Kelly has guest appearances on movie soundtracks, as a listener, his music will make a person get the soundtrack just to hear one or two songs he has on the soundtrack.
Another example on why Kelly's music is the best is he offers a bonus album when a person purchases Chocolate factory. This is very unique because most other artists don't include a bonus album and when they do it is nothing more than a remix of a certain song that was on the record. With Chocolate factory, people will get the bonus album Loveland. Loveland only has a couple of songs on it but it has such great songs. The songs are so good that they should be on Chocolate factory.
As a result of these factors, Kelly's album Chocolate Factory has more of a mature feel. It is not something a person would want a very young child ears to listen to, but something they would like playing in the background while making love. Making love is the main reason why Chocolate Factory is such a great album. While a person is making love, the person would not want some music playing that would spoil the mood. The person is going to want some music that is going to carry the mood on. When a person plays R.Kelly's music, they won't have to worry about the mood ever being to short. If anything, people would say that the mood is going to be long because once R.Kelly's songs start playing, it is pretty difficult to stop the mood.
In conclusion, R.Kelly's music is the absolute greatest of all time. No other rhythm and blues singer can ever be more enhanced in how there music is listened. Once a person is the greatest, it is hard for someone to take the name away..

Perhaps R. Kelly's brushes with the law have caused him to turn down his love light, since his seventh album Chocolate Factory takes scrupulous pains to show an idealized high-minded face of love, eschewing his usual steamy cocktail of raunchy lust and replacing it with a sweet, winsome romanticism. "I'll Never Leave," is a wistful valentine, while "The Heart of a Woman," is embarrassingly empathetic to the plight of the feminine kind and is hardly the kind of fare that one expects from Marvin Gaye's heir apparent. Despite his real life racy escapades, Kelly is at his best musically when he's an unrepentant bad boy but he doesn't even show any grit until "Been Around the World," his confessional duet with a rasping Ja Rule, the fretful bluesy "You Made Me Love You," and "Ignition," a paean to parking. Despite "Ignition"?s first line, "Girl, please let me stick my key in your ignition, babe" it's rather tame by the standards Kelly has set on his earlier discs. "Chocolate Factory" also includes 6 bonus tracks from Loveland the album that was slated for a 2002 release, but was ostensibly shelved after it was rampantly bootlegged on the Internet. Despite the disc's soft focus, Kelly is at the height of his vocal powers, and once he weans himself from the gooey sentimentality and returns to his persona of a smooth seductive operator he'll once again be an artist to be reckoned with. --Jaan Uhelszki
