Free Music Notes for Nuestro Amor

Free Music Review: Some good songs
Hit: 3 Stars

I have to admit I don't like this plastic-group, but it has some good song in their set list.

Free Music Review: Fails to live up to the excitement and variety of "Rebelde"
Hit: 2 Stars

The popular soap-opera turned singers are back!
After releasing a smashing debut album and capturing thousands of fans worldwide, the group treats us to their sophomore album, merely a year after the release of the first album "Rebelde". While this is certainly something for RBD fans to cheer about, it is perhaps to the disadvantage to all other music listeners who might want to give RBD a chance. This is simply because the album is a big disappointment and fails to impress and capture listeners the way that "Rebelde" did.

The positive side of this album is that it packs more songs on it than the debut, but on the negative side, it might as well be a 5 track album or less. Much of the material on this album is inferior, dull and the songs sound very much alike, while the vocal quality seems worse than the previous album.

A majority of the songs here are catchy and upbeat pop-rocks (which I prefer over slow songs), but most are not memorable and are quickly forgotten. The bland, boring and repetitive style of the songs are sure to make many non-RBD fan listeners stop at around track 5, rightfully so because the rest of the album doesn't sound any different.
The good news is that at least Maite and Christopher U get more singing time.

"Nuestro Amor" is the type of album that is more "backloaded," meaning the only good songs are toward the end. The strongest points are "Aun Hay Algo," "Que Fue del Amor" and "Que Hay detras," the last of the ones mentioned here being the strongest song in my opinion.
Everything else in the album truly epitomizes the term "filler songs."

Fans favorites are the album's opening single "Nuestro Amor" and "Asi soy Yo." "Nuestro amor"is at best, average but marred by a very repetative chorus. There's only so many times you can listen to the same words over and over. "Asi soy Yo" is a train wreck of a song made especially for Anahi's charachter "Mia colucci". It has very silly, dumb lyrics and the melody is incredibly annoying. Unless you are a fan of the show, these songs are definately pass-ups, especially "Asi soy yo"

Found on this album is a cover of Kelly Clarkson's "Gone" called "Me Voy," which doesn't do justice to "Gone." In fact, I think it probably hurts Kelly's reputation. I've never heard "Gone" but the song is so bad that I don't even want to listen it.

The so-so average songs here are "Feliz Cumpleanos," "Tras de Mi," and "Liso Sensual." "Feliz Cumpleanos" had potential with it's catchy rhythms but later loses it's steam with the monotnous chorus. It is average, but not single material. "Liso Sensual" is slightly better, but it seems as if the song is one long melody of singing with no definate rhythm. I easily confuse it with "Tras de Mi" which sounds almost identical. These songs are not a nusance to me but leave a lot to be desired.

Finally, the 3 ballads on this album, "Este Corazon," "A tu Lado", and "Una Cancion" are very dull and monotnous, and nowhere near as smashing as "Salvame" from their first album. They lack the depth and warmth of the popular ballad.

That being said, this is certainly a disappointing follow up to "Rebelde." It may be attributed to their quick releasing of the album, hence the poor quality of the songs. It is probably in the best interest of the producers to slow it down and take the time to create more memorable music before many others are turned off to this group.

If you're looking to try out RBD, I highly recommend the first album "Rebelde" or their English release "Rebels." Unless you're a hard-core fan or a collector, I advise you to hold out for a Greatest Hits release where you can have the good songs from here and not have to put up with the rest of the album.

Free Music Review: Choruses to inspire tears of inspiration...
Hit: 5 Stars

I wasn't going to rate this CD. I mean, what's the use? There are just so many raves about it. I assume these come from the main demographic of fans, kids who are impressed with the general produced image of this collected group. Lemme give you a review from a musical standpoint. I just love this CD. Like I've said before, pop music production usually has all stops pulled out. Now, besides the fact that this group is comprised of kids who happen to be the best dancers, singers and star on their own gorgeous TV show, the music itself is probably the red-eyed, stay-up-all-night, crumpled-up-paper-everywhere, rewritten-until-it's-perfect music. When I pop this CD into my computer and see the name(s) of the individuals who wrote these songs alongside their piece of art, the name itself lends some sort of face to a very illustrious mind. These songs are not only typically catchy pop songs, but the melodies remind you of an ending soundtrack about some sort of triumph. Couple that with the fact that this group extends on the fire left behind by an immensely popular European pop group, and tries to imitate them. I don't think RBD imitates anyone, though, in the end. This is original stuff. The choruses, where the whole group sings together, along with the most well-written, bright pop songs that I've ever heard is just powerful! I guess the triumph is in demonstrating that creativity can be so powerful that it appeals to millions of individuals all at once. I mean, listening to some of these songs I keep thinking this exact thought, "If I were to write a song with all my heart, this is EXACTLY what it would sound like." "Aun Hay Algo" is my favorite. This is exactly what it would sound like.

Free Music Review: Que Buen CD !
Hit: 4 Stars
