Free Music Notes for Airbag/How Am I Driving? [EP] [Limited Edition]

Free Music Review: A brilliant piece of instrumentation
Hit: 5 Stars

The first time I listened to Airbag/How Am I Driving, I could not believe what I was hearing. Blistering guitars on songs like "Airbag" and "Palo Alto" as well as psychedelic trip-hop on one of the most beautiful instrumental tracks ever, "Meeting In An Aisle". It is really surprising that this is supposed to be the single for "Airbag" because the material is as original and creative than anything listed on OK Computer. One last thought: IF the world is supposed to end in Y2K, I hope that "Meeting In An Aisle" is playing because it is the symphony to end the world.

Free Music Review: An excellent companion piece to OK Computer.
Hit: 5 Stars

This EP shows the "other side" to the ubiquitous OK Computer phenomenon. The songs here are quirkier and some trail off as if unfinished. While this would be the sign of shoddy craftsmanship on an LP, on this EP it seems to work. While these songs are technically the outtakes from the OKC sessions, even in their half-finished state they are actually good enough to trump some A-side releases of other bands. Radiohead are so good even their "throwaway" songs are of higher merit than some songs that other bands labour on for yoinks. You always get your money's worth with Radiohead.

Free Music Review: A must-have
Hit: 5 Stars

Radiohead's b-sides are as good as their album material, and that's why this mini-album is a must-have for all true music lovers. "A Reminder" stands as one of their all-time greatest songs. Both the music and the lyrics are hauntinlgy beautiful. "Polyethylene," "Pearly*," and "Palo Alto" are excellent rockers in the true Radiohead tradition. Also included on this disc is the great OKC track "Airbag," the short, bittersweet, melancholic lullaby "Melatonin," and "Meeting in the Aisle," the band's first ever instrumental.

Free Music Review: Amazing
Hit: 5 Stars

This American single release for Airbag also contains all the b-sides from the uk versions of the Paranoid Android, Karma Police, and No Surprises singles. Polyethylene is one of the best Radiohead songs ever and Palo Alto is a straight ahead rock song with chorus flourishes remenisciant of Creep. The instrumental Meeting in the Aisle and Melatonin are precursors of the band's experimental sound on Kid A and Amnesiac. Overall, a brilliant selection of songs that deserve a full-scale release. Thats the one thing about Radiohead - consistent quality...even their b-sides are awesome!

Free Music Review: Outstanding
Hit: 5 Stars

This CD is the quintisential essence of where music will be in 5 or 10 years. I can't describe the emotions these songs evoke. Poly-Ethylene is maybe, quite possibly, one of the best songs EVER. Music to SLit Your Wrists To. The parallels between Floyd and Radiohead are unmistakeable. I only wish American Radio stopped playing the cookie-cutter, recycled garbage and actually played somehting with artistic merit, i.e. any song from any radiohead album. I would honestly be brought to tears if, one day, I turned on the radio and heard Poly-Etylene (Parts 1 & 2). go
