Free Music Review: One of The Best CDs That I Have Ever Heard ....

I can't say enough good things about this CD. From the day I put it into my CD player, I can't stop listening to it. Grammy winner, Radney Foster, is one of the best songwriters of our time. He's a natural story teller. He doesn't fit into any Nashville mold of a star -- because he's a talent of his own.
The songs on this CD is gut-wrenching, thought provoking, raw, and emotional. I never considered myself a listener of country, but this kind of country I love! Radney can croon, and he can be bluesy, honkey tonk, and rock. He's an artist with no limits. In concert, Radney said that he loves rocking-bluesy-honkey-tonk kinda music. And he certainly got it down!
From the first track, "I've Got A Picture" it tells a story of a painful breakup and it leads to the title of "See What You Want to See." "I'm In" is a fast-tempo song about new relationships and is a favorite among his crowd to sing to. Heck, I'd turn it up and sing it in the car. "Folding Money" tells a wonderful story about a boy (Radney) and his grandfather teaching him the value of money. "Angry Heart" is another heart-wrenching song of the aftermath of a breakup and finding love again. Radney's acoustic guitar and Mike McAdam's slide guitar contribution in all these songs are amazing! Radney's vocals are unequalled and can't be typecast.
"You Were So Right" was also later cut by Lyle Lovett. "Lucky Ones" is a wonderful song. It's no wonder that Australian country artist and Grammy nominee, Keith Urban, chose to cut "Lucky Ones" as a flipside to one of his Australian singles. Pat Green also cut Radney's "Lucky Ones" on his latest CD.
Of course, Radney's "Godspeed" can replace any lullabies for any parent who has a little boy. This song was picked up by the Dixie Chicks and had become a big hit. This song is simply beautifully written by Radney for his firstborn son when he was far away from home. If I was a child, I would want this sung to me every night.
Personally, I'd love to see Radney Foster on stage with legendary, Eric Clapton. If you get a chance to see the Radney Foster play live, I have one word for you ... "Go!" You won't be disappointed.
This CD is a must for any collection. It is no longer in print and once it's all sold, it's gone (what a shame). "See What You Want To See" will always be a keeper for me. I would never sell it nor would I ever give it away. I simply love this CD!
