Free Music Review: For the ignorant haters
Hit: 5 Stars

I'm sorry this review is for all the ignorant RATM haters out there...and you need to get your facts straight. First of all, RATM is not some cheap knock-off of Linkin Park. RATM's first debut album hit stores in the early 90's; while Linkin Park's "Hybrid Theory" didn't debut until about 2000. And not to state this offensively but, it is ignorant to think RATM copied their material from any other band. Yes, the penatonic-funk genre had already presented itself to the public, however, Tom Morello took the penatonic idea and creavitely constructed to his own funk-rythem. Yes, they sound similar to several bands; but that is common in the general rock genre. RATM is also not a hypocritical conformist band either. If any of you actually knew anything about the band you would know that Zach de la Rocha's father was involved in politics. Yes, their ideas are a little extreme, but the whole purpose of the band is to share their ideas with the public by telling them about what democracy and freedom should be about; the (voice of the people). If any of ever did any research you would also know that RATM were activists of their time and some former band members still play a part in the fight for the people's rights, (they are not hypocrites). Please, if don't like the band, so be it, but don't post inaccurate information about what you think they are all about; instead try to research what they are really all about and then voice your opinion. BTW: age, sex, or even a degree in psycology doesn't make you right, when you voice an opinion. An opinion is what you think; it's not factual evidence.---But this album has to be their best work. Their ideas were brilliant; Zach de la Rocha rap/heavymetal-political lyrics combined with Tom Morello's genius licks and rythmic bass lines and drums beats give the band the compeling edge, but completely misunderstood in its generation. I completely idolize all their music and believe their unique make them one of the most brilliant, creative bands of all time. I give them 10/5 stars for RATM

Free Music Review: Listen to the 1st marriage of hip hop and hardcore
Hit: 5 Stars

To me, one of the true tests of music is how it stands up over time. This CD still sounds as fresh and relevant as it did in 1992. No matter how many have tried, no one sounds like Rage Against the Machine. Each and every track on this CD is excellent, there are no filler tracks or substandard material.

It can also be said that no effort by this band, or any of its subsequent derivations (see Audioslave) have come close to the fiery brilliance that is this album.

Please note: LISTEN TO THE LYRICS. Whether you agree with him or not, Zack De La Rocha has an excellent grasp of history. I have seen few hard rock / metal albums which have inspired as much debate as this band.

Free Music Review: crap cd
Hit: 1 Stars

first off this album lacks imagintation its unbelivable admittedly they have a good guitarist in the form of tom mellero but otherwise they are a load of crap this is the worst cd in my collection and i have never brought another ratm record since if you want to hear political rock i sugest system of a down this the worst cd in my collection now there are some who may like this if you like rap you may do but the rap element isnt perticullary good quality even by the standard it has been set so unless your a fan of rap-rock (crap rock) then buy this
now i only borrowed this album from someone who said it was brilliant it is probably worth borrowing if you like catchy guitar riffs ruined by some crap rapper

Free Music Review: Bring The Rage!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

Rage Against the Machine... featuring Brad Wilk, the slick drummer who plays like it should be (and has the coolest tatoo). Timmy Commerford, the funky bass player who can play the coolest notes we have ever heard. Zack de la Rocha, the angry Mexican rapper who is obsessed with racial injustice, the state of America at that time or anything else that involves rebelling, revolting or destroying! And the God... Tom Morello. One of the best guitarist's of our time who played the best riffs of all time in the three R.A.T.M. CD's. Slap these four together and you make one of the greatest bands of all time.

Their self-titled debut from 1992 contains ten songs, all roughly five to six minutes, which blends the talent of the three musicians and the anger of Zack de la Rocha's political lyrics. Every song on this album is great. Period. The one-star reviewers saying that they are a bunch of hypocritical multi-millionaires. Bullsh*t. Throughout their 8 years, they have done their homework when it comes to their lyrical views. And as for their rap/metal sound, they are the only ones that can do it. Linkin Park? Limp Bizcuit? Give me a break.

Here is a review of all ten songs.

1. Bombtrack - 10/10 - Electrifying track with a great guitar riff from Morello and great vocals from de la Rocha. This is definately one of the best Rage songs ever made, with the angry chorus and the great playing by Morello.
BEST LINE: "Burn, burn, yes ya gonna burn!"

2. Killing In The Name - 11/10 - Yet again one of the best Rage songs ever, and one of their best known. Every time you listen to this song, you want to jump up, break something and bang your head against a wall. Definately one of Rage's best, and the best song on this album.
BEST LINE: "F*ck you I won't do what ya tell me"

3. Take The Power Back - 9.5/10 - A funky song with a great bass line from Timmy Commerford. Obviously has a real political meaning, and Zack de la Rocha delievers his usual angry lyrics.
BEST LINE: "The present curriculums, I put my fist in 'em. Eurocentric every last one of them"

4. Settle For Nothing - 9/10 - Good track about Zack de la Rocha's family and all that stuff. It is not the best song on the track, (and probably the weakest), but it is still a great listen. Even if it is the weakest, it is still great.
BEST LINE: "I gotta 9, a sign, a set and now I gotta name"

5. Bullet In The Head - 10/10 - Great track with a great bass line from Timmy Commerford throughout the song with a cool chorus. Yet another great track delievered by Rage.
BEST LINE: "They say jump, ya say how high, ya brain dead, ya gotta f*ckin bullet in ya head"

6. Know Your Enemy - 10/10 - Clearly we see how talented Tom Morello is just by listening to this song. A classic Rage song, no question about it.
BEST LINE: Ignorance, hypocrisy, brutality, the elite. All of which are American dreams"

7. Wake Up - 9.5/10 - Everybody loves this song. So do I and the band does a great job with it but overall it isn't my favorite song on the CD.
BEST LINE: "Ya know they murdered X and tried to blame Islam"

8. Fistful of Steel - 9/10 - Great song. Antoher great song. Even though it is mostly forgetten, I still love it.
BEST LINE: "Mad boy grips the microphone wit' a fistful of steel"

9. Township Rebellion - 10/10 - I LOVE THIS SONG!!! I think it is one of the greatest Rage songs ever made with great lyrics and great guitar work by Morello, yet again.
BEST LINE: "Why stand on a silent platform, fight the war, f*ck the war!"

10. Freedom - 10/10 - One of the greatest guitar works ever in a song and quite possibly the best by Rage. I always loved this song, and yet again Rage delievers another great track.
BEST LINE: "Anger is a gift"

As we see, this is the best metal albums of the 90's. If you never heard a Rage song, then start out with this one. It is tied with the Battle of LA as the best Rage albums. If you do not own this album, go out and buy it. You will never stop listening and will be hooked. Plus, the album cover of the monk lighting on fire is a classic. Bring the Rage!!!
