Free Music Notes for Rage Against the MachineFree Music Review: The best of the genre Hit: 5 StarsRATM (the album) is quite possibly the greatest rock album of all time. Blending a unique combination of tempo, bass, anger, and beats, the debut album Rage Against the Machine is a masterpiece.
Like a great cup of coffee this album combines rich, thick flavors that mix bitter and sweet for a fabulous buzz and lasting after taste. "Two thumbs up - way up" and all of the stars that Amazon allows.
Free Music Review: Music with A meaning!! Hit: 5 Stars This cd is by far their best as far as I'm concerned. It's got it all, anger, passion, meaningful lyrics, killer grooves, bigass beats, awesome tunes and everything else that makes a great cd.
These guys really set a tone with this release and it still stands tall today.
If you like bands like the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, you'll love this stuff and it's truly something special.
Free Music Review: A Human E>Hit: 5 Stars"To govern is to foresee. And the people in power have seen nothing but greed and destruction en mass to benefit a few."
"Anger is a gift" perhaps. But, "Anger in a non-violence shape and/or form is genius."
Peace to all men of goodwill.
"Know Your Enemy", "Bullet In The Head", "Wake Up", "Freedom" etc...
From Louis Armstrong to Jimi Hendri>< to Rage Against The Machine - An American Music Experience indeed.
Free Music Review: 14 years later this album did not start a war... (an idiot president did) Hit: 4 Stars14+ years later... still love the slap bass lines, the loopy shrill solos, the bombastic drumming, the interesting song structures, the pounding accented notes and memorable Dropped D riffs that tattoo this album...
14+ years later...still don't know what Zack was going for and I still don't listen to anything he says beyond "Take it back the other way!" and "uggh!"
It's a shame that Suicidal Tendencies's side project "Infectious Grooves" never broke bigger from this era. That band was equally talented and funky as hell without the Marxist meat beat manifesto.
...but Rage $old records and maybe some weightlifting jocks rented a Robert Redford film to learn more about Leonard Peltier. Ahh... sweet accomplishment!
Free Music Review: With the D the E the F the I the A the N the C the E Hit: 5 StarsAh, how can you describe Rage? I will in one word, Briliance. Its hard to belive this album came out in 1992, 14 years ago. Wow. Listening to it today, it still blows away pretty much everything on the scene today. This album started it all. It really did, RATM only released 3 albums in the 90's and they are easily one of the most powerful and influential bands from that decade.
Onto the album, this album is easily one of the greatest albums of the 90s in my book. Easy. Every song on this album is powerful, and infused with energy. Frontmant Zach is known for being a perfectionist, and while that certainly delays albums and makes for long waits inbetween, it also produces some incredible music.
Tom , Brad and Tim have to be one of the best trio's in all of music. Looking at all the albums they have been apart of, they are truly special. They just have that chemistry and the flow they have when the start jaming is unbelievable. If you've seen them live, you know what I'm talking about. They sound better and crisper live than on the album. Its actually hard to imagine that this is the first album by these guys. It sounds so polished and so fluid, they already seem like vets of the industry. Tom Morello is also one of the greatest guitarists in the history of music. Without question. There is a reason why they put on the back of th e cd that all sounds on the album are real and not electronic or mixed. Morello always amazes me with what he can do with the guitar, and he is still going at it 14 years later. Kudos tom.
Also, the chemistry of the band and Zach also is amazing. As much as I love Audioslave(and Cornell), nothing really matches the intensity and fire that Rage has. When Zach starts doing his thing, he sings/raps with such power and emotion. Just listen to him, and listen to what he is saying. All these songs mean something to him, and he is passionate about that. All of this is what makes Rage truly special. And this album delivers it all in spades.
Looking at this album, if you didn't know what songs belonged on which albums, it could be a best of cd. Killing in the Name is obviously the biggest and most sucessful song on the album. But then you have Wake Up, Bombtrack, Know Your Enemy, Take the Power Back, Bullet in The Head, Freedom...all of those songs are incredible.
If your looking to get into Rage, start here and work your way towards Battle of Los Angeles...and then Renegades(good stuff, but hard to get into, all covers). Each album is fantastic, but this is the album that starts it all. I can't imagine any of you not knowing what Rage sounds like, and if you have heard them and are intrigued, go buy this album. It won't dissapoint.
