Free Music Notes for Love Behind The MelodyFree Music Review: Can't be any better Hit: 5 StarsThis CD is stimulating from the very beginning Raheem DeVaughn has shown that he is so taleted in so many ways from the very beginning he starts out by saying LOVE is what it is all about which I thought was an amazing beginning just to go into Women and all that they are to him Fantastic work
Free Music Review: Love this cd!!!!! Hit: 5 StarsThis CD is wonderful!!! For those of us who love neo-soul, this is the one to have.
Free Music Review: It's safe to go with Raheem Hit: 4 StarsWhen I first heard Raheem DeVaughn's debut album "The Love Experience" I knew that this cat has major talent. Songs like "Guess Who Loves You More", "Who" and "Until" simply blew me away and gave his debut a unique touch. Raheem is sort of a mixture between D'Angelo and Musiq, with very smooth vocals and insightful lyrics. Raheem's debut album wasn't flawless and kinda fell off towards the end...
Not so with his sophmore album. "Love Behind The Melody" is a beautifully put together musical ride through old school R&B with smooth beats and wonderful harmony. Raheem tries to give us exactly whats missing in R&B today... He is not afraid to go for ballads and emotional songs, carefully mixed with midtempo songs, such as "Woman", "Energy" and "Try Again". There is only one misstep on this cd and I think everybody knows what it is... It's "Friday (Shut The Club Down)", which samples the Temption classic "My Girl". Except for this one song Raheem offers nothing but straight Neo Soul and R&B to relax and vibe to!
Free Music Review: Great CD Hit: 5 StarsI Love this CD this is a must have I love Raheem. Since 'Guest Who Loves You More.' He is also great in concert.
Free Music Review: worth buying Hit: 3 StarsThis CD is growing on me. I'm a big Raheem DeVaughn fan but this time the melodies on some cuts are not original enough. Understandably, he sampled the 60's legendary hit, My Girl on "Friday (Shut the Club Down) but it just doesn't feel as good as when he sampled The Isley Brothers on his previous CD. He obviously loves and appreciates women, which is a breath of fresh air in light of today's lyrics. My favorites are "Woman" "Love "Drug" "Friday" "Butterflies" "Empty" and "She's Not You". Overall, it's a very good CD, not great, but still worth buying!!
