Free Music Notes for Love Behind The MelodyFree Music Review: Good music you will still cherish for years to come... Hit: 4 StarsIt seems that today's music (R&B specifically) really is not as memorable as it use to be. Artists come out with catchy tunes and lyrics that are hot for a few months but by the next year, you've already forgotten the lyrics to the song. Not like the days of Anita Baker, Luther Vandross, and Sade, whose songs we still sing and cherish today. I did not officially sign on as a Raheem DeVaughn fan until this album. What got my attention was the two singles "Woman" and "Customer" that both sounded great. What I like about the album is that it's a true R&B album that does not depend on big name rappers to make guest appearances and remixes to help sell it (Think of Usher). Another reason I enjoy the album is because the songs other than the two singles also delivers good music throughout the album. With some albums, after you listen to the single track the rest of the album just does not stand up.
The only issue I have with the album that has prevented me from giving it a solid 5 stars is the fact that I think that DeVaughn loaded the album up with too many and unnecessary song intros. Tracks 8,10, and 14 was not needed and just created clutter. Overall, this is album delivers us with good memorable music.
My Favorite tracks:
Woman
Customer
Love Drug
Mo Better
Desire
Try Again
Energy
Free Music Review: AAMBC Music Review Hit: 5 StarsOne of the most well taught singers in the industry today. Not only is his song on love, their not typical, his high range makes him stand out, and he is defiantly original. You can play every song form start to finish, just because every song is relatable and worth listening to. His music is its own. I give it five stars.
Free Music Review: Raheem is Divine! Hit: 4 StarsI'm not disappointed. It is just what I expected from him. He's a great lyricist.
Free Music Review: OMG, Hot the only descrption I can give! Hit: 5 StarsThis is a hot, hot, hot CD. I am a Raheem fan, he does not disappoint. I listen to this CD from start to finish and repeat it again. This is truly for the Women and I truly appreciate every track on this CD. Faves (songs I repeat 4-5 times before I can move on) 5, 6, 7, 12, 13 & 15. But really, this is a cd you can put on and listen to again and again. Raheem knows how to delight the ladies and I promise you, you will walk away feeling this man & his love. Raheem rules!!!
Free Music Review: Lovin' this throw-back-neo-soul-hippie-r&b-rockstar!! Hit: 5 StarsI am IN LOVE with this CD!! I had heard "woman" and that was all I needed to hear. I couldn't wait to get my hands on this disc. Raheem reminds me of Marvin Gaye, D'Angelo, and John Legend all rolled into one. I disagree with one of the reviewers on his use of the Temptations' cut "My girl" to create "Friday". I love it!! It actually made me like the old cut more. It makes me bounce in my seat during my hour-long commute. I love the entire album, but "Customer" sounds too much like "The Dream"...very predictable, however, Raheem made it work for him.
