Raiders of the Lost Ark...Written in 1981 by John Williams, this soundtrack was nominated for the Academy award, and well deserved it. Full of exciting music, this soundtrack will please all. In 1995, Raiders of the Lost Ark was re- issued. The 1995 version has seven new tracks that were never in the original version, while other tracks carry previously unreleased material. The most famous of the soundtrack, "The Raiders March", is an exciting piece full of brass intruments. Is this soundtrack worth buying? Well, I was pleased with it, and it will probably please you! Containing 18 tracks, all of them worth listening to, it is worth the money. This soundtrack is probably one of John William's best scores, so if your looking for a great John William's classic, this is for you! Most of the music in Raiders of the Lost Ark is tense, while their are other tracks that are more on the quiet side. If you are into tense music, this CD fits that category just fine. Raiders of the Lost Ark is one of three similar soundtracks in the "Indiana Jones" series. Other scores in this series include "Indiana Jones and the last Crusade" and "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom". Raiders of the Lost Ark and "the temple of Doom" are probably the best of the series. This series is great to collect, especially if John Williams is your favorite.
