Free Music Notes for RisingFree Music Review: rainbow rising: buy this! Hit: 5 Stars
This is the second album from the legendary Rainbow and sees the classic line up that went on to record the magnificent "Rainbow Live". Cosy Powell has been drafted in to play alongside Jimmy Bain to form the rhythm section from Hell and most of the tracks are centred around the myth and legend that brings out the best in Dio's masterful lyrics. There is no weak point on this album but if you had to nominate one track then it has to be "Stargazer", which is eight and a half minutes of pure musical heaven, and still sends shivers down the spine even thirty (!) years since you first heard it. God knows what Blackmore, Dio and company are doing nowadays, but for this critic they never surpassed this. As for Cosy Powell, God rest you mate, there'll never be another.
Free Music Review: BLACKERS RULES!! Hit: 5 Stars
there is a very good reason so many people have given this CD such rave reviews. It has got to be Rainbow's masterpiece. Ritchie Blackmore and company have put the pedal to the metal here and the results are fantastic! This is a must-have disc for any metal collection. Ritchie is firing on all cylinders and Ronnie James Dio, one of rock's finest vocalists, sings his heart out, especially on Stargazer, a super track. And it is always a pleasure to hear the drumming of the great and gone-too-soon drummer, Cozy Powell. Rainbow went on to record some good tunes after this album but for me and many others this is their masterpiece. Crank up your hi-fi on Stargazer and let the drums of Cozy Powell lead you into some serious headbangin'!

Free Music Review: THE ultimate rock album Hit: 5 Stars
After reading the other reviews, what can one say? Just this: I own this album since it was released in 1976 (back then as an LP, now as CD) and it is the only album from that time that today still gives me the goosebumps. (allthough I agree with the other reviewer that 'Do You Close Your Eyes?' is a weak point). To me it is almost unbelievable that an album that was recorded more than 30 (!!!) years ago, can still today sound so fresh and new. But this one does, and will continue to do so. This is a Legendary Album. If you are interested in rock music and don't own this one: go to the store as fast as you can and buy it! Rock doesn't get any better than this.
Free Music Review: Rising Power Hit: 5 Stars
This album is, simply put, a powerful, mystical journey. I've been a Dio fan for years. I love Deep Purple as well. You do the math. Ritchie Blackmore is truly a master of his instrument. I've never heard a guitarist that sounded like him. He goes from classically influenced to blues with ease. Stargazer is one of the finest songs in metal/rock history. It's a powerful, sweeping journey, set to expert guitar riffs, masterful keyboard work and drums that challenge anything John Bonham ever played. Rising is worth owning just for that song alone. Every track on this album is outstanding. I highly recommend Rainbow Rising to any Purple / Dio / Whitesnake fan.
Free Music Review: Old school fantasy metal! Hit: 5 Stars
This album is more like old school power metal music but I guess with out the cheesy humor. This album has only 6 songs but worth the price and every song on here was awesome. One of the best songs was tarot woman, I listen to that song more than any other song on here, The main thing I love is toney carey's keyboard solos and ritchie blackmores guitar work And this is much better than ronnie james dio's solo albums and not bad if you ask me but no as good as his collaboration with rainbow.
truly underated album!
\m/ stay metal \m/
R.I.P Ronnie james dio (July 10, 1942 - May 16, 2010) you will be missed!
