Free Music Notes for Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow [ORIGINAL RECORDING REMASTERED]

Free Music Review: Rainbow's Finest
Hit: 5 Stars

After leaving Deep Purple, guitar wizard Ritchie Blackmore launched a brand new band called Rainbow with Ronnie James Dio. This is their first and best album.
Here are discriptions of each song;

1-Man on the Silver Mountain, one of Rainbows most popular songs, but not one of my favourites.

2-Self Portrait, definately the best on the album, with a dramatic chorus and intense guitar, it's definately the best

3-Black Sheep of the Family, this was first recorded by Quartermass and it's definately a high point on the album

4-Catch the Rainbow, A very well done song with very interesting vocals

5-Snake Charmer, Not bad at all

6-Temple of the King, A nice ballad that shows that Blackmore isn't always a heavy metal wild-man

7-If You Don't Like Rock n Roll, Very strange indeed

8-Sixteenth Century Greensleeves, Simply a masterpiece

9-Still I'm Sad, I great instrumental to close the album

I highly recomend it to any true fan of the heavy metal/medievel genre. Enjoy!!

Free Music Review: Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow ~ Rainbow
Hit: 5 Stars

The first album by Rainbow is fantastic. It was a very good move of Ritchie Blackmore to step out of Deep Purple and start a new band. Rainbow is much and much better then Deep Purple!! Ofcours, the singing is much better. Ronnie James Dio is the best singer of the world, and Ian Gillan is an okay singer. The two rainbow-albums after this one are even better! This music sounds a bit like the Elf music. Elf was Dio's previous band. But the two albums after this one(Rising and Long Live Rock 'n' Roll) are more hard rock and less bluesy. Beneath you can read how I rate the songs:
1. Man On The Silver Mountain(10/10)
2. Self Portrait(10/10)
3. Black Sheep Of The Family(8/10)
4. Catch The Rainbow(9/10)
5. Snake Charmer(8/10)
6. The Temple Of The King(10/10)
7. If You Don't Like Rock 'n' Roll(7/10)
8. Sixteenth Century Greensleeves(10/10)
9. Still I'm Sad(10/10) - this is an instrumental song

Great album! Highly recommended!

Free Music Review: One of the great guitar albums of all time
Hit: 5 Stars

This is one of the most amazing guitar oriented albums of all time. Every guitar solo is an absolute masterpiece. Each solo is a song within itself, brilliantly done with incredible feeling and restraint. None of this pointless rambling up and down, and all over scales, that we hear so much of today. So melodic and so well done. Dio is amazing as well! I even like the bass playing by Craig Gruber. This album is one of those few albums that have a real "feel" that carries through every tune. I remember back in 1975 and how it never left my turntable for an entire summer. This is Blackmore's best effort in the heavy genre. Try "Rainbow Rising" as well. If your a real fan of his playing check out the acoustic "Shadow of the Moon". The album is quite unique and again projects a certian kind of "feel"consistent with those albums that will be remembered.

Free Music Review: ESSENTIAL RITCHIE BLACKMORE: 10 STAR RATING!
Hit: 5 Stars

This guy's guiar playing has influenced so many young guitar players out there now, that a statue of him in gold somwhere is long overdue! I've been a Deep Purple nut for so many years, and although albums like, In Rock and Burn, have some of his most amazing playing in them, this 1st Rainbow release is his best guitar work in the sense of melody. His playing on Catch The Rainbow and Temple of The King is just beyond words. I love Jimmy Page, Hendrix, Malmsteen, etc., but this guy invented a guiar sound that no one can match. No one was doing the stuff he was back in 1972 even, when Machine Head came out. You also have Ronnie James Dio delivering some killer vocals on this, what more could you want? 10 STAR BLACKMORE RATING FROM SCRAGGY'S TOMB OF POWER METAL, USA. (ANY MALMSTEEN FANS SHOULD HEAR THE INTERVIEW DISC ON HIS RELEASE, INSPIRATION, TO HEAR HIM CONFIRM WHAT I'VE JUST REVIEWED.)

Free Music Review: Best Rainbow
Hit: 5 Stars

Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow (1975) is their best album, in my opinion. This debut album has 2 classic numbers, MAN ON THE SILVER MOUNTAIN, and CATCH THE RAINBOW. The latter is a slower, methodical, almost trancelike song that is my favorite from this band. Dio is the perfect fit for this album, with its many different sounds and speeds. He's one of just a few singers who have the ability to adjust their tone accordingly. The last track, STILL I'M SAD, is an instrumental that finishes the album on a very high note. This album was the springboard for Dio's awesome career that followed, with successful stints in this band, as well as Black Sabbath and his solo career. The album cover says it all: This is the world of Dio.....a master of fusing fantasy with heavy metal. Get this album--it's very nostalgic and classic. 9/10
