Incredible debut from a band most fear. This album has almost everything needed to be perfect. A friend of mine told me once that the guitars on this album are right in your face.......and they are. Heavy catchy riffs engulf this album from start to finish, burning through each track. There is so much variety on this album(much more than I expected to hear). This album makes me want to thrash on the dance floor and sing in german. A couple of setbacks on the songwriting and production(bass guitar is hidden in the mix). I'm sure anyone who is into the industrial thing already owns this but if you are you waiting for?????????Free Music Review: Greatest German band today

The cd is good when you listen to it loud as hell because the recording of it seems to be low. It's like 40 to 50 mins. The works on this album seem to differ from the later albums because they didn't have as much freedom to do what they want but the world is in for the taken with one song at a time (Not relating to any teachings of Adolf Hilter in anyway). And they are not nazis, just because they are from Germany doesn't mean they are all nazis. Back to the music, The title track is good at it's own pace while some songs are more faster and intense like the single "You Smell So Good". It's even better when you see them live.Free Music Review: And so it begins...

My addiction to Rammstein began in a small cement black room... No I wasn't in jail, I was in college. In Joe's Room playing what else but Nintendo 64. Nothing like playing Golden Eye with Rammstein blasting through the campus. This CD has been my latest acqusition to my collection (although mine's has a different cover). While I HAVE heard most of Rammstein's songs this was the first time I heard "Der Meister" "Das Alte Leid" and "Herzeleid" I LOVED the way they sounded, although in my opinion Rammstein has come a long way since then. I highly recomend this CD to ANYONE who likes Industrial Metal.

Don't get me wrong,Sehnsucht kicks serious booty! But Herzeleid is slightly better overall in my opinion. Sehnsucht sounds better at first and is easier to instantly like.However, Herzeleid has more lasting quality. The songs will grow on you more than the ones on Sehnsucht. When you listen to Herzeleid, put the headphones and really try to pick out the little details in the background that aren't obvious at first.. This cd shows their true musical genius, but you may not see it at first.All of Rammstein's recordings kick butt though, so get them all!!!! By the way, learn german and you'll like the songs even more!Free Music Review: They're not Nazis

Rammstein is a great band, lots of amazing sounds in this music. Their live concerts are even better. They may sing about rather odd things, but just because the cover of the album "represents a superior race" as the improperly educated call it, and they sing about subjects that are out of an average human beings comprehension doesn't mean they are Nazis. Sure... They roll their Rs from the tip of their tounge like Hitler, but that doesn't make them automatically Nazis. "A music fan from Hmburg" ... A real German OR a real metal fan would not compare this music to Hitler's speeches.
