Free Music Review: Experience Rammstein's beginning

If you have Sehnsucht, you need to get Herzeleid. Without Du Hast, this CD is still great. It's great from beginning till the end. Rammstein combines industrial heavy metal with techno to give their own unique style of music. The lyrics are radical, but you find there is a deeper message to be given with every song. If you're a Rammstein fan, you must have this CD. I continually choose to listen to this over Sehnsucht, because it's harder and it contains a larger selection of styles, which makes it so much easier to listen to at any time. My personal favorites are Wollt ihr das Bett in Flammen sehen, Weisses Fleisch, Asche zu Asche, Seemann, Du riechst so gut, Heirate Mich, Laichzeit, and Rammstein. Well I first heard of Rammstein when one of their songs was played at a Rock Club - I just HAD to know who it was by! Now I'm totally addicted and I need my regular fix... 'Herzeleid' is awesome. If you want total industrial heaven just get this album, now. Anyone out there ever heard of Cubanate? They are a London based industrial techno band. Rammstein are like a much heavier version of Cubanate with a Ministry-style bass line. As 'Guitar' mag wrote in June '98:- "For anyone who craves crunchy, scalpel edged riffs, heavy electronic beats and strong hooklines, East German sextet Rammstein is one of the most welcome groups to surface from the darknes since Nine Inch Nails." Rammstein is a most intresting band. The lead singer is a deep tenor with a sharp edge on his voice. Since the band speaks German it sounds very strong, perfect for hard rock. When most Americans hear the "techno" in Rammstein they dislike the band for only that reason, but the band doesn't really feature their keyboardist and mostly focuses on their guitars.
The sound of their guitars are very metalic. Very deep and very powerful. This, the bass, and the keyboardist all go well together in a get up and rock way.
There are other bands that are similar for instance Megaherz. You should hear them as well before buying this album, but I still think Rammstein's Herzeleid is one of the best albums in a long time.

i was introduced to rammstein like many others through their 1998 radio hit du hast. i, as many others liked it, but quickly became annoyed with the repetitous playings of it on the radio. after getting sehnsucht i didnt imediately fall in love with the band, however after a few playings of the entire cd, i became a major fan, and soon picked up herzeleid. It took a couple playings as with sehnsucht, but soon i liked herzeleid best. i have been a "stein" fan for many years and recommend this cd to any metal fan. give this music a chance, u will soon be addicted. my favorite songs on this cd are wollt ihr..., asche, du riechst, laichzeit, rammstein, hell, they are all good, but those my absolute favorite. Rammsteins music is so off the beaten path! I like their original and catchy music a lot: the sound, the deep voice of the singer. Their music is well made: you can listen a hundred times to the CD and still discover something new... I can't decide which CD is best: 'Herzeleid' or 'Sehnsucht': they are just so great! The lyrics are he only negative things of Rammstein. Here in Belgium, everybody speaks 3 to 4 languages and German (because it is not far) is among them, so I can understand the lyrics and I heave to say that they are disgusting and sick. It sure gives an extra dimension to it, that's true. Finally a good metalgroup that doesn't sing in English (seldom heard in Europe nowadays). You HAVE TO buy this album!
