Free Music Notes for Liebe Ist Für Alle Da (Dlx) (Dig)Free Music Review: Melody that kicks your @$$. Hit: 5 Stars
There aren't many albums this strong that I have come across in my life. This is powerful music that rocks, and is amazingly melodic. Stranger still, there is a touch of humor to this masterpiece that make it one of the most compelling albums that I've ever heard.
Simply put, every track is well constructed, perfectly executed, and is enjoyable on first, second, and third listens. Complex layers and easy to listen to? This is just great hard rock/metal.
I have noticed that a lot of bands from the 1990's have put out some solid music in the last five years; Garbage, Weezer, Tori Amos, Smashing Pumpkins, Oasis, and Green Day to name a few. And it seems like the new bands in this area can't quite hit the right spot. That's okay, because we have some great music from Rammstein and other bands like the ones I listed.
"Liebe Ist Fur Alle Da" is as good, if not better, than any other release that Rammstein has put out. On the first listen, it was clear that this album was making a bid for my favorite from the six albums. It has only grown with each listen.
The intros are some of the most unigue, and the whistling ('Engel') is back in a whole new way. The band members really get to show their stuff - every one. The keyboards, guitars, bass, drums, and vocals just blow me way. Every aspect of their previous stuff has built up to this.
If you like Rammstein, and great hard rock/metal in general, I don't see how you won't dig this album.
Highly recomended for folks who like to rock out, and for those who love melody.
Free Music Review: 5 Stars With The Extra Songs Hit: 5 Stars
If you're going to buy this album, you MUST buy this 2-CD edition. This is truly one of those rare times where the extra songs meet or exceed the songs that were included on the "real" album. Fuehre Mich and Donaukinder are both classic Rammstein, Halt is also very good. The other two songs are the only true "extras," being alternate versions of Roter Sand (the first being an "orchestral version" with the same lyrics, and the second having completely different lyrics), though these too are not throwaways.
Ironically, the absolute worst track on the album (and really the only just plain bad one) is the first single, Pussy. When I heard it streaming on its launch date, I honestly thought, "Oh, great. Rammstein have just completely given up even trying." Just a really, really bad song, musically and lyrically. They could have improved the main album immeasurably by replacing it with any of the extra tracks. It's like they painted the Mona Lisa and then said, "Nope, needs something... more. How about throwing some bird droppings on there?"
Schneider's drums in particular have never sounded better, evidenced by any of the heavier songs (though especially Rammlied, Waidmanns Heil and the title track), but a real gem for me is the softer Fruehling in Paris; it's really quite straightforward, without much musical complexity or lyrical depth, yet nevertheless simply a very pretty, melodic and evocative song.
The main album gets 4.5 stars ("thanks" to Pussy), while the extra tracks bump it back up to a full five.
Free Music Review: Different from what we are used to. Hit: 5 Stars
Wow this album has been in long anticipation and I believe that it has been released without disappointment. They have seemed to take a slight detour from their basic industrial sound and into something a LITTLE mellower. While there may be some softer songs such as "Roter Sand" or "Frühling in Paris" there are songs that are really hard and have a lot of pick up i.e. "Bückstabü" or "Führe mich" (only available on the deluxe edition). These songs are the reason we love Rammstein. I really appreciate artists that try something new but still have songs from their original style i.e. "The Who" or "O.K. Go". It seems that drummer Christoph "Doom" Schneider has really improved a lot and his double-bass pedal flies off the hook almost this whole album, which in other bands really sucks but here it is actually consistent and sounds good, all in all he has really helped improve Rammsteins' unique sound. Till Lindemann's voice is still good, low, and powerful. Buy this album, it has a new flavor but is still great and original. Take it from an unbiased customer.
Pros: - Nice double disc set.
-Booklet and box have some very nice images.
-The second (bonus) disc has some great songs on it, such as "Halt" and I am very surprised that some of these are not on the standard edition.
-Drummer and lead singer have improved.
Cons: -I can see how some will have a hard time accepting the slightly more mellow sound but I like it.
Free Music Review: Incredible Album- Among Best Of 2009! Hit: 5 Stars
RAMMSTEIN returns with another superb album that delivers everything you'd expect and more. I have enjoyed all of their previous albums and this one is no exception- the songs, the melodies, the singing, the energy, the guitar and synth work---all just keep delivering beyond expectations.
If you are a RAMMSTEIN fan, this album should definitely make you very happy, it's a more of a return to their more aggressive roots but there's also a couple of really nice ballads in there as well. Till's vocals are better than ever, presented in an ever-expanding range of emotion this time around, even though he's always spectacular in the deep, angry range he is famous for.
There's really not enough good I can say about this album, every song delivers! And I sure don't understand the disappointment from so many regarding their first single off this recording- Rammstein is known for their dark sense of humor with songs like 'America' and 'Te Quiero Puta' on previous albums- not to mention the insane 'Buck Diche' from their most successful album, SEHNSUCHT. So like Til says in this classic 'pink' song gone insane---'what's the problem?' Lighten up people, it's a satire and while the lyrics are deliberately superficial and corny, the music itself is very cool, as always.
Do not miss this album, and I highly recommend the double-CD version, as the songs on CD # 2 are no leftovers, but very strong Rammstein tunes that you will enjoy immensely!
Free Music Review: Afftentittenturbogeil! Hit: 5 Stars
This is Rammstein's best release in a long time. Granted, Reise Reise is a great album, but Rosenrot was average at best, largely because it was nothing but tracks left over from the Reise, Reise sessions that were not good enough to get on the final cut. So, Rosenrot is not a true album but a collection of B-Sides and it did not have a tour. Liebe ist für alle da is the best release since Mutter or Sehnsucht which I regard to be their best two CDs and the experiments with their sound a la songs on later releases (Think acoustinc Los!). LIFAD is heavy, catchy, and overall just a great album! The only track that is less than perfect in my opinion is the song Pussy, which features less than thoughtful song writing. For those who understand German however, will understand that the song is not just a song about sex ( a la Rein Raus ) but a playful poke at the sex tourists (those who come to Europe for the drugs, prostitutes, etc) however I think that Till Lindemann should stay away from singing in English. Pussy is not a terrible song by any means, just the weaker point in the album.. But it picks right back up with the smashing eponymous song , Liebe ist für alle da and closes well with Roter Sand. the songs on the bonus CD are also great. GET THIS ALBUM! and if you know German, it is much easier to appreciate the music!
