Free Music Notes for Live Aus BerlinFree Music Review: ICH WAR DORT! Hit: 5 Stars
"Ich war dort" means I was there and it was the most amazing thing in my life to see those 6 musicians play. I was in the front row and I can tell you that the energy of the crowd is perfectly placed into the album. This is a helpful list of the best songs and why.Spiel Mit Mir- I usually skip over but it's still good. Bestrafe Mich- Not only do I love the name of the song but Till's deep voice really comes out in this. Weißes Fleisch- This was the song considered by many to be Nazi because it's translated to "White Flesh"...SHUT UP! Rammstein is everything but Nazi, the song's just about Sex but it's definetly one of the best. Sehnsucht- Lyrics ae odd but the riff is wicked. Asche Zu Asche- Very good fast-paced beat. Wilder Wein- DIES IST SO, SO GUT. A slow song on the album made the concert twice as magical. Heirate Mich- Always one of my favorites and I loved the part when they let the crowd sing the main chorus. Du riechst so gut- The introduction was the coolest thing I'd ever seen. Bottle rockets shooting in the air precisely when the music started. Du Hast- probably the only song people outside of Germany, know of Rammstein. Classic but I didn't like the live version as much as the Sehnsucht one. Bück dich- This is the best song on the album for a few reasons. I'm a pervert and Bück dich means Bend down(I'm German ;)and also the riff can not be matched. The sound was so loud and fast it felt like an orgy towards the end. Engel- I love the singing of Bobo and like Wilder Wein, nice slow one. Rammstein- The only neat thing about this song is that Till lights himself on fire:) Laichzeit- Weird song but mostly for the lyrics. Wollt ihr das Bett in Flammen sehen?- It's alright. Seemann- The perfect way to end an amazing night.
Free Music Review: Rammstein unleashes their rage in Berlin!!! Hit: 5 Stars
These Berlin natives were welcomed home by a pumped up croud at the "Parkbuhne Wuhlheide" on the 22 and 23rd of August 1998. What a remarkable concert it was. As I listened to it, it made me realize how astonishing and great the band sound Live. After I listened to "Wilder Wein" (Wild Wein), I fellin a deep trance listing to the beautiful keyboard talents of Flake Lorenz, not to mention the acoustic guitars, beautifully played, and the on going "Ich warte auf dich, am ende der nacht" sung by the deranged Till Lindemann. "Engel" was sung as good as the non-live version with Bobo's one and only voice making it a great LIVE addition to the cd, plus the croud singing along made it one of a kind. "Du Hast",sounding as pulse grinding as ever, made a great live track. If you really love Rammstein, or just getting introduced, LIVE AUS BERLIN is the CD to get a hold of and listen to it over and over. Rammstein is not only the best teutonic, head banging, pulse grinding,METAL band out their but they crush other bands by playing LIVE. Not only is this a great CD, but LIVE AUS BERLIN is great on VHS, or DVD. You get the honor to see the pyro-insanity of Till Lindemann in flames in "Rammstein", see Bobo in a flaming cage in "Engel", hear "Tier" (not recorded on the live cd along with "Klavier") and see Richards daughter Khira Li Lindemann lookin down upon the crazed croud, and the funny as ever, "Bueck dich" on (VHS, but not DVD) having it's one of a kind 'EXPLICIT CONTENT". (You'll just have to see it for yourself!). Get the CD and Vhs, and or DVD. Best music listening experience of your life. I promise!
Free Music Review: Du hast mich gefragt und ich hab nichts gesagt!!! Hit: 5 Stars
I think the SFX were decent, aince this is a recording of a live show and it doesn't have the quality of a studio recording like the other CDs. A friend told me that the bass was "hard to hear", which is true if you aren't in tune to what's going on in the well-oiled machine known as Rammstein. He went on to buy Sehnsucht and Herzeleid, the two albums whose songs comprise Live Aus Berlin (with the exception of Wilder Wein).
I like this album because it gives a window as to what a Rammstein concert feels like. At certain times the crowd will start cheering for no apparent reason - I assume something interesting's going on. For example, take Buck Dich (Track 10). Beforehand, I had no clue as to what they were doing. I think that's the one problem with the CD, but in my honest opinion, it's ALMOST the same as going to a concert with your eyes closed.
Anyway, back to the quality. The only thing I found objectionable was "Du Hast", with Till allowing the crowd to yell out the rest of the lyrics, nearly rendering it inaudible.
It goes like so:
Till: Du.../Du Hast.../Du Hast Mich.../
(repeat 3 times)
Du hast mich gefragt/du hast mich gefragt und ich hab nichts...
Crowd: (inaudible) GESAGT!!
Otherwise, I have no issues with this album. I can hear everything else 'to a T'. 5 out of 5.
Free Music Review: The best live album...ever. Hit: 5 Stars
I bought Live Aus Berlin after I bought Sehnsucht, so I was familiar with those songs prior to listening to Live Aus Berlin. If I can give a one-word description of this album, that word would be "breathtaking" without a doubt. The songs completely evenlop the listener into a world of hard guitars, fanatic drum lines, and pyrotechnics. Rammstein is a very "out-there" band, and they're living it up. Also living it up are the fans, who provide pulse-pounding backup singing. I heard someone once call this album "A sing-along from hell." I can't disagree. I speak no German, but I sing along with the songs like I'm there. My favorite performance on this album (and there are many, many awesome tracks) would have to be "Weisses Fleisch." Where some of the sounds from the studio versions of the songs sound more scripted and planned, Live Aus Berlin songs add a new dimension to the entire listening of music altogether. If you are a die hard Rammstein fan, you already have this CD. If you are not, it is a recommended buy for the sheer flow of the album.
Free Music Review: A fantastic live disc Hit: 5 Stars
"Live Aus Berlin" features the German industrial/metal machine known as Ramstein at they're best: live. Widely known for they're pyrotechnic shows, the energy from the band and the crowd of screaming fans on this live album makes up for the lack of visuals. "Spiel Mit Mir", "Sehnsucht", "Wilder Wein", "Du Hast", "Rammstein", and "Seeman" are all brought to life live amazingly, but the standout track here is the mournful "Engel" in which the crowd sings along, and the emotion in lead singer Till Lindemann's voice must be heard to be believed. The thrashing drums and grinding guitar work has never sounded better, and all together "Live Aus Berlin" is one of the best live albums from a metal/industrial outfit. The DVD of the same title is also strongly recommended, just as long as your not afraid of fire or any of Rammstein's other infamous live shenanigans.
