Free Music Notes for MutterFree Music Review: INSTANT CLASSIC Hit: 5 Stars
"Whoa" was the first thing that came out of my mouth when I turned on Mutter. I didn't really expect much, being that this was the first Rammstein CD I bought, but to my amazement the German Gods don't dissapoint in any way. "Mein Herz Brennt" starts off with an INCREDIBLE string section with Till softly singing along. Then, it breaks into guitars and drums playing WITH the strings. Overall an incredible effect that makes an incredible song. Next, "Links 2 3 4" brings on the competition with very cool guitar and an even cooler chorus. Then, the GODLIKE "Sonne" proves that no band in the world can pull off what these six have. "Ich Will" is a cool keyboard driven song mixed with guitar that ends up with a great sound altogether. "Feurer Frei" is basically what most people will buy the album for. Anyone who has seen Triple X, know this, (in case you didn't know already) Rammstein was the band in the beginning and this song is what they're playing (which is nothing short of amazing). Next, the slow guitar and string driven title track shows Rammstein's softer sides as well as the very cool "Spieluhr" which has a GREAT chorus. "Zwitter" demonstrates some of the heavier areas of Rammstein along which comes out great. "Rein Raus" is really the only complaint I have. It's not a bad song, but it needs some work because it gets repetitive in some areas but has some cool parts which makes it still worth listening to. "Adios" easily makes up for this slight fault with a excellent chorus and a catchy guitar solo. Finally, the album ends with the slow and mysterious "Nebel" which actually comes out pretty good for an ending track (though many will probably disagree). Overall, AN INCREDIBLE third effort from the six gods of Rammstein and definitely worth buying.
Free Music Review: Rammstein Hit: 5 Stars
Never have I been so surprised, impressed and moved by such an album. When I bought this, i had no idea it was going to be the greatest albums I ever bought, and a turning point in my life. After just one listen of this album, I declared Rammstein my favourite band ever. They are just magnificent. Every tone, riff, beat, word and what else these geniuses of music decide to craft in are done in such purpose, it really makes each song a joy to listen to.
The album starts off with slow, depressing violin sounds that magically and immediately breaks into drums and guitar, along with harsh, sudden violins. This is Mein Herz Brennt, one of the best openers in a an album I've ever heard. I seems unlikely that such a beautiful song could be beaten, but it does. The third song "Sonne" is definitely my favourite song on the album. It mixes hard-hitting drums and guitar with soft, eerie singing, surprisingly done with a keyboard. The album goes back to rock with "Ich Will" and Freuer Frei", which are two great songs to headbang to and include awesome techno sounds (reliving Rammstein's earlier albums). The album slows down again for "Mutter" which sounds so simple, yet orchestral. Then the album speeds up again with "Speilhurh", "Zwitter", the Sonne anthem "Rein, Raus" and "Adios", which boasts a superb, fast guitar solo. The album's slowest song is "Nebel", which is a trend for new-age Rammstein to end their albums on the slowest song. Nebel is beautiful, slow, and easy listening.
Don't think that this is Rammstein's one-hit wonder album. All their albums are great and if your into intellectual rock or some heavy metal to air-guitar to, Rammstein's got you set. It's been two and a half years since I bought Sonne and I still listen to it and Rammstein still remains my favourite band.
Free Music Review: My first Rammstein album... and I love it! Hit: 5 Stars
I had heard a lot about Rammstein before I bought this album,(Du Hast) and I never particularly payed any attention to them. However, once my cousin got Reise, Reise and I heard the two singles Amerika and Mein Teil I immediately knew I had to buy one of their albums. Reise, Reise was ok, but I knew soon that their album Mutter was chock full of hits and great songs, so I bought it, and I am so glad I did. Here's a run down of the songs:
1. Mein Hertz Brennt- 5/5-the first song that I heard off of Mutter and loved it.
2. Links 2,3,4- 5/5- the second song I heard off Mutter... and I couldnt get that "Links!" chant out of my head.
3. Sonne- 5/5- I love this song! I listened to it right when I popped into the cd player and enjoyed every bit of it.
4. Ich Will-4/5- A good song, and an awesome chanter, but just not one of my favorites on the album.
5. Feuer Frei!-4/5- Also a pretty good song, but that Bang! Bang! thing just sounds kinda cheesy everytime I listen to it, but I love the synth in this song.
6. Mutter- 5/5- A great song, I love the chorus, and the guitar.
7. Spieluhr-4/5- I dont know what it is about this song, the guitar is cool, chorus is pretty cool, but that little girl kinda bugs me man.
8. Zwitter-5/5- I love this song, because of Zwitter, it sounds so funny in this song! especially with that like little person electronic voice.
9. Rein Raus- 5/5- pretty good, lyrics are incredibly funny.
10. Adios- 6/5- one of my favorites on the album, awesome guitar, awesome everything.
11. Nebel- 6/5- I really like this song, and I dont know why. The orchestration is really cool, and sometimes reminds me almost of the keyboards and atmosphere you get in dimmu borgir or borknagar. One of my favorites on this album.
Free Music Review: Not exactly classic Rammstein... Hit: 5 Stars
I consider myself a true Rammstein fan. I've been with them since the beginning, so I do believe I'm in pretty good standing to dish out comments. Be prepared :)Rammstein promised that this album would be more "heavy" to the style of their first cd, Herzeleid. Now while its true that it definatly IS less "popish" than Sehnsucht, its quite clear that Rammstein ARE becoming more commercial. Its something that we are going to have to face. This is, of course, not an entirely negative thing. Make no mistakes - and let me make this clear right away - Mutter is an outstanding album and easilly ranks right up there with some of the group's best (uh... songs that is... they only have the 3 full discs). I, for one, am happy with the change. A problem that plagues so many metal groups today is their inability to change. Rammstein has evolved well over time (granted - I personally did not quite appreciate the turn they took with the incredibly commercial Sehnsucht). Mutter is a more musical, more melodic Rammstein - and to be frank - it works great. All their characteristic guitar riffs are still there. Till still sounds like... well... Till - granted he's a little more "Singy" than we may be used to but again, the changes are merely evolutionary. Think of Mutter as Herzeleid with a touch of Sehnsucht thrown in but without the pop. This was a difficult cd to make. A group needs to stay fresh, but without destroying what they are. This is what Rammstein has managed to do, well, with Mutter. I could see this being a nice cd to get if you're new to this awesome group. For fans of either of their first two cds - there is much here to like. For fans of both - there is no excuse to not get this disc now.
Free Music Review: Hoppe Hoppe Rieter! Hit: 5 Stars
Beautiful, an Honestly gorgeous album. I'm a hardcore listener, I look for an album with a backbone, a compilation of movements that can't be measured as anything less than stunning, and tasteful. I thought that finding such music in this day and age would be very improbable, but RAMMSTEIN delivers like Domino's. When I evaluate music, I look at what first appeals to me the very most, and then what is most polar of that. First, Least appealing, "Rein Raus" (Meaning "In, Out"). As Far as Lyrical content, it's ardently sexual, but very pleasing to the imagination, with analogies. The only thing that was unappealing, was it's lack of melody, but THEN.. wouldn't you know? MELODY! A beautiful one "Tiefer! Tiefer! Sag Es! Sag es LOUT!" It was wonderful. One of the most exciting and edgy works of music I've ever witness, my most dear Track being "Spieluhr", it's definative, and tells a Haunting tale of a child, deciding he/she is dead, and some long while later, his/her music box is still playing, though the child has died- "Hoppe Hoppe Rieter, Eine Melodie Im Wind". In summary, even searching for a flawed track, I still couldn't convince myself it was anything less than splendid. No Faults. Perfection, with this Raw, Passionate Elegance. Spieluhr alone is worth it, but is only a taste.Beauty flows and tears through Mein Herz Brennt, Sonne, Mutter, Adios, Nebel, Ich Will, Feuer Frei!, and Links 2,3,4. The only dissapointment here is that I couldn't give it 6 stars. If you can't find beauty in RAMMSTEIN, stop looking, because they're as good as it gets. Oh, and by the way, to anyone wondering, The Child's Vocals are those of Khira Li Lindemann, Richard Bernstein's Daughter (Not Till's). -Andrew
