Free Music Notes for Reise Reise

Free Music Review: diffrent...not lost.
Hit: 5 Stars

Over the years, rammstein has become known as the largest industrial metal band in all of germany and a majority of America upon the release of 'Herzeleid' and 'Sehensucht' (gone double platinum from germany and the U.S.). They released such power and ferocity which the world had not seen before...such in fact, that they sent metallica reeling upon an opening for one of their concerts.

What many see as their pride; Mutter was no diffrent. Seen by most fans as the peak of their career...the best...their masterpiece. Reise Reise has in no way faultered from this. In Mutter's stead is left a dark heavy expectation...Reise Reise in turn offers a comfortable balance of fluidic melody, not to be confused with false speculation.
While there are still the fringes of good heavy influence in the songs: 'Stein um Stein,' 'Mein Teil,' 'Reise Reise,' and specificaly 'Dalai Lama,' --a favorite to many, there are yet deeper pieces which they have seen fit to display. 'Los,' 'amour amour,' and 'Ohne Dich' offer a lighter, somewhat more persoal side of the band. They have dared to push the bounds and created a bluesy effect with los, with its harmonical and jazzy riffs. Amour Amour gives a soft--yet very strong outlet for Till as Ohne Dich runs a peaceful sonnet.
In all, this cd is a roller coaster, of rhythem, voice and beat. Those who appriciate Rammstein for their diversity, detailed guitar riffs, and Till's deep hearty voice will love Reise Reise. This is another corner stone in Rammstein's venture, though it be a bit off the beaten path.
"By the third album a band knows weather or not it will make it." ~Vocalist: Till Lindemann
They will not be denied, not now, only those with daring and sheer drive can produce such stunning variety as this. So by all means, Reise Reise surely is diffrent...not lost.

Free Music Review: The Evolution of Industrial Rock
Hit: 5 Stars

I was very leery when I heard that Rammstein was coming out with a new album. Mutter was insane in its riffs and lyrics. I had it in my car stereo for almost 5 months straight. When I heard "Mein Teil" on the Resident Evil Soundtrack I was thinking Rammstein isn't as forceful as on Mutter. I was a fool. I bought Reise Reise and was truly amazed in how they took a more slender approach at this album. The opening track Reise Reise is truly addicting, I have it repeating over and over in my head. Mein Teil is next, very good under my questioning of its validity to their style. Dalai Lama truly great distinct lyrics, one of my favorites. Keine Lust faster than the others very sound in its rhythm. Los is very acoustic based very well planed out. Amerika truly satirical and addicting, when it first came out I couldn't stop singing it and I got my friends singing it as well. Moskau very enthralling the girls Russian lyrics in the back along with Till's deep German voice intertwine perfectly. It makes you want to start counting in Russian. Morgenstern, my favorite track. Power in its lyrics so distinct. Stein Um Stein a very dark song probably my second favorite, Till screams the refrain at the top of his lungs, very captivating in his voice. Ohne Dich, very much a ballad soft yet catchy. And lastly Amour. Amour is wickedly good, when I first heard it on my way back from the record store I thought my rear view mirror would fall off. My subwoofer was pounding, the bass on the chorus so rapid and trembling, sinfully good. I was very impressed by this album. It taught me not to doubt Rammstein because they always seem to come through, even when I wasn't expecting an album as subtle as this it still impresses me to the upmost degree, truly worth every penny. Rammstein Truly Is The Evolution Of Industrial Rock And Metal!!!

Free Music Review: The best of 2004
Hit: 5 Stars

This album is one of the best of 2004, for me is the second best behind Mutter of this excellent band, with sounds that you don't expect.

1.- Reise, Reise 5/5: This song is definitely the best of the entire record, with the accordion at the end you know good music is coming. (rewind to negative time, a surprise is waiting)

2.- Mein Teil 4/5: this song is the hardest no doubt about it, love the voice of Till. The scream is not a good part of the song.

3.- Dalai Lama 4/5: A good creepy song. Although is too long still very good.

4.- Keine Lust 5/5: Funny song and really interesting. The usual guitar sound of Rammstein appears in this song.

5.- Los 5/5: The first time I heard this song I just couldn't believed it, acoustic guitars and a catchy rythm makes this song one of the best.

6.- Amerika 5/5: Amazing song with excellent choruses, it reflects the americanisation of the world in a very cool way.

7.- Moskau 4/5: Good song, it's in russian and german, and is very interesting the mix of till and the russian girl, Viktoria Fersh is her name. It gets too repetitive at the end.

8.- Morgenstern 5/5: The best intro on the album and it gets better when the chorus appears. It's a great piece of music.

9.- Stein um Stein 5/5: The roughest song. Type of "I hate you" song but with a really cool way to say it.

10.- Ohne Dich 5/5: Beautiful. Sadness. Desperation. You can find this in here. Absolutely incredible. I didn't expect this, is beautiful.

11.- Amour 5/5: The best way to close the album, a perfect way to describe love if you were hurt by it.

To close, this album is definitely worth it.

Free Music Review: a whole new side of rammstein
Hit: 5 Stars

no, the title of this review doesn't do reise reise justice. this album shows EVERY side we didn't expect to be good of rammstein, done good. a few years ago i decided to buy sehnsucht despite the odd cover that came along with it. i had heard the song du hast and had loved it, but sehnsucht blew me away. i had always been meaning to buy herzeleid or mutter, but i just never got around to it. however, when i heard that rammstein was coming out with a new album, i went online right away. i watched the music videos to amerika and mein teil and i have to say i was kind of sickened by mein teil and found amerika tedious. i was expecting the rest of the album to be disturbing but borderline tedious. that's why i was shocked when my friend told me the album had a slow song or two. i burned the album right away and it exceeded all expectations. who would have thought that an acoustic track from rammstein, the german gods of hard-thrashing metal, would be any good? one of the reasons that i found amerika tedious were the clever lyrics in english. i really don't like it when foreign bands write in english to sell to the public, but i've found that i don't mind it at all on this album, especially when it's clevery placed like in mein teil when the line changes from "es ist mein teil" to "yes it's mein teil" and in amerika when it rhymes "wunderbar" with "wonderbra". i also like the added touch of a choir in the back of most songs. i realize that they used this on their previous albums and that it's a signature of theirs, but in this album it seems so much more prominent, adding a melodic touch to the thrashing metal sound. congrats to rammstein on creating yet another glimmer of hope in the almost lost world of metal.

Free Music Review: Reise, Reise was worth the wait
Hit: 5 Stars

Okay, track to track breakdown:

Reise, Reise (10/10) - Great opener, the best song on the album. A classic anthem.

Mein Teil (9.5/10) - Probably their heaviest song to date. Based on the real-life incident of consensual cannibalism that happened not long ago in Germany. Would be 10/10 if the intro wasn't chopped off.

Dalai Lama (10/10) - From Goethe's "Erlkönig Erlking," a lot like Spieluhr. Nice build-up to the chorus, with a piano, and for the first time Olli sings.

Keine Lust (8/10) - Heavy, fast-tempo rocker in the vein of Manson.

Los (8.5/10) - Cool acoustic track. One for the highway.

Amerika (8/10) - Catchy, a little too pop, but it does feature an amazing guitar solo.

Moskau (10/10) - nice Sehnsucht-style melody with Viktoria Fersh singing in Russian with Till's low German.

Morgenstern (10/10) - An anti-love song with jazzy drumming, tons of choir, and some "Du Hast"-style vocals.

Stein um Stein (9/10) - seems inspired from Edgar Allen Poe's "The Cask of Amontillado". I like how Till makes the transition from singing like he wouldn't hurt a fly to a madman sealing you alive.

Ohne Dich (10/10) - very powerful ballad with Till's best singing that was written during the Mutter sessions.

Amour (9/10) - Flake gets a keyboard solo. Starts off slow but builds up to a fantastic finish with the choir and the "gib mir gift" part.

Overall, I'm very pleased with this album and unlike the last three, I can listen to it start to finish without skipping over any tracks, and that's saying something.
