Free Music Review: Exactly what Malo fans have been awaiting!

This is the album that Raul Malo's fans have been begging and beseeching Malo to record. There is no other voice like Malo's and he is in top form. Half Spanish, half English, no one song outshines the others; they are all incredibly delightful. Teaming up with Shelby Lynne, Malo delivers a sultry, sensuous "Takes Two to Tango". The title song is luscious, as is Ocho Versos ("Eight Verses"). Long Live Raul Malo! (but I do hope he doesn't forget about the Magic of The Mavericks). I've had the pleasure of attending eight Mavericks' concerts, and while I would happily attend a Malo concert, I do hope to hear the entire group live once again. It is a shame that our music industry feels they must compartmentalize and categorize, which leaves a man of Malo's talent searching for a compatible niche. If you enjoy Malo half as much as I do, don't miss him on Los Straitjackets singing "Black is Black" as well as Los Lobos' "Cantos".
