This CD should come with birth control!!! Long awaited by Malo fans, he delivers. The ultra-talented ex-Mavericks' frontman steps way, way out and leaves everyone else in the dust. Dare I say better than Orbison....there I said it (I don't regret it!!!). This one will not gather dust in your CD cabinet. Malo's delivery, especially on You're Only Lonely and At Last (that great Etta James chestnut), is something to behold. I even like the duet with Martina McBride (not usually a favorite). When you listen to this kind of music and then have to sit in silence for several minutes when its over, you have experienced greatness....no question....A must for serious music lovers and the mood music crowd!!!Free Music Review: Beautiful

I absolutely Love this new CD! Raul's beautiful vocals sweep me off to different place. I especially love Angels Flying too Close to the Ground and Games that Lovers Play. Raul's first solo CD "Today" has been my favorite for years. It is the first thing I turn on each morning, and by the time I leave for work, his latin rhythms have me feeling sassy, alive and excited for the coming day. His new CD, You're Only Lonely, is what I listen to each evening when I come home. I have a glass of wine and settle down to enjoy and embrace the romantic and sensual place Raul's voice captures for me. "You're Only Lonely" is a Beautiful CD. I always enjoyed the Mavericks, I only listened becaue of Raul Malo. When they split, I was sad to say the least. I'm glad Raul decided to continue with his singing alone. This CD shows the purity of Raul's voice, without the background instrumental noise. I tried to pick out one favorite song, but it was no use. Every song is wonderful. If you want music to just kick back and close your eyes to enjoy, this is the one for you. I plan to get every CD this man makes,( I already have the entire Mavericks collection ) The duet with Martina McBride singing Feel Like Home is certainly a bonus ! The extraordinary stylings of Mr. Raul Malo on his new cover album, Your Only Lonely, are felt as well as heard. YOL is a feast of voice and sound that tugs at the heartstrings each time you listen. Having previously swayed to Raul's beautiful voice on Nashville Acoustic Sessions and Canto with Los Super Seven, I love the way he tenderly fills your soul with sweet vibrations. I'm especially enamored of his fantastic renditions of Secret Heart and Remember. Raul can turn a cold night HOT, HOT, HOT. This album is should be shared with anyone you love. I highly reccommend you purchase multiple copies like I did. One is definitely not enough.Free Music Review: No surprises, just more brilliance.

Raul Malo boasts as good a voice as one could wish to here. At times there is an eerie similarity to the Big O but if that's not a compliment what is? It would seem that no genre is beyond Raul's capability. On You're Only Lonely a bunch of contempary tracks have been given the treatment. The likes of JD Souther (title track), Willie Nelson, Randy Newman, and Ron Sexmith to name but a few will find their names credited here. Along with one that Malo co-wrote himself. That track, For You is as good as any other in my opinion. This style of music is timeless and will suit any mood you may find yourself in. Please keep this man in demand.
