His voice is so beautiful it makes me cry. I have always loved the Mavericks but now his voice is show cased in a way others may listen to him and hopefully he will get the recognition he rightly deserves. He has a voice every bit as good as the current opera stars. In So Sad I am convinced he is crying, and without a doubt he is a BEE GEE brother with an accent in run to me. My only regret, his recording are too few! Peter Astor did great job in showcasing Ralo and you can hear the heavens open up when I play this album! Thank God they made it!!!! This latest CD is nothing but pure beauty by Raul. I believe his long stint with the Mavericks allowed him to determine the course that he wanted to take with his music. Not to be branded or limited to the country music but to expand his horizons and really show his talent. His past two albums "Today" and this one "You're Only Lonely" shows amazing versitility and talent. His mellow vocalizations continue to amaze me whether it is in a Cuban song/ballad or a classic such as "At Last".
I highly recommend this CD AND seeing this man in concert. He shows great humor and a very appreciative manor.

Incredible voice by an incredible artist that unfortunately hadn't recieved the success and the recognition that has to recieve, I hope at least this release will be the start of a better career for himself.
In this new album, some songs really touched me, I mean his talent is huge and when I'm hearing his voice I feel like I'm somewhere else, I have to tell that my favorite songs from here are "Feels Like Home" (especially the solo version), "So Sad" and "For You".
But that doesn't mean that I don't like the other songs.

You're Only Lonely...what a fantastic cd from a fantastic artist..who only gets better and better!!!! I just saw him in concert in California...and the man's voice takes you in and you are lost in his songs...all I can say is WOW...what a voice...all the song tracks are great..and his duet with Martina Mcbride is awesome...(it is a real tear jerker)...Raul Malo...more..more..more...thank you for being such an outstanding artist....love this cd and all his music...you will become a fan instantly!!!!

I first heard Raul Malo on NPR back in September, and instantly fell in love with his music! I made several unsuccessful attempts at trying to locate his CD in the local Tucson market, and finally ordered it on Amazon. His voice is reminiscent of Roy Orbison's (as many other people have commented), but more pensive... the expression "intoxicating" comes to mind!
"You're Only Lonely" is a great CD for lovers, although I have been listening to mine at the office. A vital ingredient for a surefire romantic evening!
