Free Music Review: An Incredible Manzarekian Listening Experience!

I have always loved the music of the Doors and Jim Morrison's poetry and persona. However, throughout my youth and throuigh to middle age, I have always been highly aware that the MUSICAL VISION behind both the Doors and Morrison was Ray Manzarek. Once, when I attended a Doors concert, Morrison was too drunk or sick or stoned to perform. The other three Doors took the stage, and Manzarek did all the lead vocals and NAILED EACH AND EVERY ONE. Perhaps that is why I think OTHER VOICES is the best Doors album of all. Ray Manzarek was, is and always will be the genius behind what the world knows as The Doors.
LOVE HER MADLY is, I have been told, a B-grade film at best, but its soundtrack is sheer, pure, blissful artistry. Manzarek is not a man to rest on his laurels. The man has MOVED with the times and continued to hone his musical chops through the years. It all comes together so beautifully in LOVE HER MADLY.
The word "haunting" keeps coming to mind as the perfect descriptor for this soundtrack. I should underline that while this music was conceived as a "soundtrack" to a film of the same name, there is nothing "wallpaper" or "anonymous" about this movie score. The music is vintage Manzarek, albeit distilled in a millennial bath of 21st Century obsessions.
I'm getting too prosaic for thios board. Do yourself a favour. Do your ears a favour. Do your mind a favour. Buy LOVE HER MADLY and remember Ray Manzarek in your prayers. The man is a gift to us all. Enjoy him while he's still among us. LOVE HER MADLY will make you love HIM madly.
Ray Manzarek should be enrolled to play God in any and all films now that George Burns has passed away. It would be only fitting.......
