Free Music Notes for Freaky Styley

Free Music Review: Catholic School Girls Rule
Hit: 5 Stars

The remastering takes a bit of the "mud" from the quality of the recording, leaving it with a little more tin than I remember. Flea's liner notes are a fun read, especially the mention of George Clinton in their ears. The addition of demo songs has always seemed a questionable practice, to me, but I guess some people like them. More value for your buck, you know. There's a reason they're "demo" and not the finished product-they don't sound as good.

Otherwise, this album is about 15-years-old. If you haven't heard it by now, or formed your own opinion, then you really don't know much about the Chili Peppers. It far surpasses any of their current music. But if you're afraid and only like what's new and popular, you should avoid this little gem.

Free Music Review: !!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

Freaky StyleyIn the early 80's,i was considerably bored and fed up with hair bands.A friend, whom i had not seen in years, was nominated for a grammy for an album titled, "BIG GUITARS OF TEXAS", stopped by and recommended a fairly new band called "THE RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS". Since then, i bought there albums and attended all their concerts. Just watching Flea play his bass is worth every penny spent on tickets. If you want to attend at least one concert, i highly recommend The Chili Peppers. "Freaky Styley", in my opinion, is one of their best recordings.A matter of fact, all there recordings are great!

Free Music Review: totally awesome
Hit: 5 Stars

this is THe definitive rhcp album. forget the incredibly poor, [crummy], by the way, this is the greatest album of their career!
this album just oozes funkadelica. anthony's lyrics are, well, different great, jack's drumming is incredible, fleas bass lines are totally awesome, and hillel's guitar work is breathtaking, its just a shame that the chilis hardly ever play this stuff any more!
i can't possibly state what the stand-out track is, but there isn't a single bad song present!
just buy the bloody thing!
4get about bloodsugarsexmajik, californication and by the way, the albums u want are the 4 80's ones, and start with this!

Free Music Review: Funkiest Chili Peppers album
Hit: 5 Stars

Freaky Styley is without question not only the funkiest Red Hot Chili Peppers album, but also one of the best funk albums since the heyday of Parliament/Funkadelic. After getting mixed results with their self titled debut, the Chili Peppers stepped up their game musically thanks to the return of original member Hillel Slovak and the strong production by the godfather of funk, George Clinton. Every song is worth listening to, especially Jungle Man, The Brothers Cup, If You Want Me To Stay, and Catholic School Girls Rule. Freaky Styley doesn`t have the strong songs and production of the later albums, but it`s definitely a good old school album.

Free Music Review: Their 2nd Materpiece!
Hit: 5 Stars

Don`t listen to such people who say things like "they hadn`t really found their groove" or such nonsense. This is Chili Peppers, and what they stood for in the early days, and it was ORIGINAL! UNIQUE! The Peppers did "find their groove" After their 3rd album Uplift Mofo, and it was gradually downhill from there. The high experimentation and so-called lack of cohesion of these albums is the very thing that makes them Totems of music. What they did here was 100% unadultered expression with great variety. These 3 first albums are their finest work, all 3 masterpieces! Get them!
