Free Music Review: whats with the negative reviews?
Hit: 5 Stars

People honestly I dont understand wtf is up with the negative reviews. I've listened to this album maybe 15 times through since I bought it on the day it was released and I cannot hear what you guys are griping at. Personally, I discard the rest of the Chili Peppers work when I listen to this because it's a totally different sound. I take it for what it is and that is truly great rock music. I agree with some other revies I have read that say this could be the best rock album in the last 20 years. To me, this blows away the other RHCP albums because it moves the band in an alltogether new direction. These arent the same wild, uncontrollable, life of the party frat boy rockers of the late 80s and early 90s. With Stadium Arcadium, the Chili Peppers become mature rock artists with a genius to their music unmatched by any other band today. Every single song means something, whether you like the song or not. For me, I thought every song on the album was incredible but other people may have a few they dont like. I dont care about that. Its the 1 and 2 star reviews that I see saying that the album is full of fillers? How can you call these songs fillers? How can you complain about something so much just because it may be a little slower than the other albums? Do you really want a band to stay the same their entire duration? If thats the case then listen to a group like Linkin Park or Nickelback. Dont waste your money on something that you wont understand. In thirty years this album will still be talked about and considered a rock classic and you 1 and 2 star reviewers will look stupid. So keep them coming all of you "music experts" who think your doing the world a favor by letting people know that this isnt as good as Blood Sugar Sex Magik. Im sure some people will take you seriously. I know a few people who WONT take you seriously though. They are the Red Hot Chili Peppers and they're never ever gonna get back to the sound of the late 80s and early 90s. That sound is gone and replaced by something BETTER and MORE MATURE. And theres nothing you complainers can do about it. I say keep it up Anthony and co. If this is your curtain call then its a truly incredibly way to end an incredible tenure as a staple of rock music for decades to come. If theres more where this came from then I'll be the first one to buy it and rock the s**t out of it. Thanks for some truly spectacular rock.

For the record I have been a Chili Peppers fan since they started out in the early 80s. I love all their stuff but this definatley is the best yet. Not all of us hardcore, Chili Peppers fans are disappointed with this album.

Free Music Review: Merci aux Chili peppers pour cet album
Hit: 5 Stars

I've been buying this album since the day it came out and I just can't believe how amazing "stadium arcadium" is... The thing is, the more you listen to it, the more you like it. Before the album came out, I was a little skeptical, because well, to be honnest I didn't especially like the first single "Dani Clifornia" which is one of the less interesting songs to my opinion. Still, I was sure there would be very good songs, but not as much exellent ones. That's simple: almost all the songs on this album are amazing and some of them are masterpieces. You can tell these four guys put a lot of passion, love and energy in it, some of the songs some fill you with joy and peacefullness and some of them make you want to cry and some of them make you want to dance , and by the way (no play on word here) the funk is still (always has been) there...
Just a little advice for all those people that judge and write bad reviews vey quickly... try to give the album few other listenings, because really you're missing something, and that's too bad... for you. Like I wrote it, the more you'll listen to stadium arcadium the more you'll discover how 'rich' this album is.
The Chili peppers have never sounded that much united, creating something really beautiful, just listen to John Frusciante's guitar sounds and melodies, Flea's incredible groove, Chad Smith's rythms and Anthony..well,Anthony's singing has never been that good and expressed as much emotions with a lot of beauty and subtleness (there's a french expression, I don't know how to say it in English but it describes the way Anthony singing there, we say ' fleur de peau' fleur meaning flowers and peau meaning skin and it's like this thrill or this little breeze on your skin, like a flower, something expressing a very sensitive feeling). Just listen to 'hard to concentrate' for exemple and you'll know what I mean.

I think there's something else important which we doesn't give enough credit to, that is the mixing of the album which is really mindblowing (Listen to 'We believe' with good headphones).

Ok, here's a list of few of the songs that are among the bests to my opinion:
-Turn it again (wow!)
-We believe (the harmony of all the musicians together, the bass/drum groove, the guitar melody with anthony's singing, the vocals)
-Wet sand (the ending!)
-She looks to me
-Hard to concentrate
-Storm in a teacup
-Hey
And lots of others...

So, thank you the Chili peppers for this album... you just created one of the beautifulest pieces of music I've ever heard...

Free Music Review: Better than good
Hit: 5 Stars

After the technically proficient but slightly hollow sounding By The Way, the Red Hot Chili Peppers appeared something of a spent force. A greatest hits album, a live disc, whilst worthy additions to their canon were by no means essential purchases for fans who, to be fair, already knew the songs. New tracks such as "Fortune Faded" showed a band grasping for ideas.

I have no idea what happened, but "Stadium Arcadium" is an unadulterated joy from beginning to end, with the Chili's genuinely rediscovering a groove they have not tapped since the seminal "Blood Sugar Sex Magik", and managing to seamlessly mix it with passionate, heartfelt, more mid-tempo songs that ebb and flow and tug at your heartstrings in a way that the plastic balladry of By The Way could never do.

The first disc begins with radio friendly single "Dani California", a song which announces the return of the Chili's with a stomping drum beat, fluid guitar hooks and a bubbling bass part which shows that the increasingly passive Flea has rediscovered his mojo. Kiedis too, has never sounded finer, bringing back his old school, staccato delivery but adding his new found power and sensitivity to the mix.

Other highlights of "Jupiter" include the shimmering Snow ((Hey Oh)), raucous Hump de Bump, which brings back the old funk rock stylings of the Peppers, complete with horns, and the more considered brace of ending songs Wet Sand and Hey.

"Mars" is a slightly less in your face affair than the first disc, starting with the thoughtful, but still stadium sized Desecration Smile, and including the mellowed Animal Bar, If and Hard To Concentrate. It also includes the album's only real misfire, the wooden 21st Century, which despite being a track most bands would sell body parts for, seems weak in comparison to the rest of the material on display here.

This album also marks the complete rehabilitation of guitarist John Frusciante. Not only is he now a genius at picking out the finest tones and knowing which notes go where, he has also regained the prodigious skill that he possessed on his earlier work with the band, a skill that was absent from By The Way, and to an extent Californication. Every few tracks Frusciante thrillingly cuts loose, and adds a whole new dimesnsion to the band's sound.

Overall, the Red Hot Chili Peppers have created an album of heart, power and beauty, and it should not be ignored. With enough hooks for the mainstream, and enough cleverness and genre hopping to satisfy the muso, this could well be one of the albums of 2006.

Free Music Review: Thoroughly Solid Rock 'N' Roll
Hit: 5 Stars

The Red Hot Chili Peppers have burst back on the scene in a big way with "Stadium Arcadium," their first to reach the summit of the Billboard Top 200 albums chart.

Lead single "Dani California" is their first top-10 hit since the '90s and has maintained its stronghold on the rock charts for weeks while mellow follow-up "Snow (Hey Oh)" is gaining momentum on radio.

Often double albums are a sign of artistic self-indulgence or, even worse, stagnation of creativity. Still, while the new collection could easily have been whittled down to make one heck of a CD, don't expect filler here. Even on less notable songs, a sudden hook or rhythmic, even gorgeous, guitar lick picks up the energy and reminds listeners why this band is so revered. To guess at further hit singles is impossible for the sheer fact that every song could be one.

The first disc, "Jupiter," lights the spark with both singles and moves on to strong selections like the unabashed levity of "Hump De Bump" and the title track, with its lilting melody and other-worldly harmonies. "She's Only 18" is a rousing mid-tempo rocker, while "Warlocks" and "Especially In Michigan" shake things up with bubbly instrumentation and skillful wordplay.

Not everything is fun and games, however. "Torture Me" takes a cold, hard look at how senseless life can be, while "Hey" underscores the negative effects of emotional isolation. Still, the eerie intensity of "Slow Cheetah" may be the highlight of the disc, wisely observing that "everyone has so much to say, they talk, talk, talk their lives away."

As if this isn't enough, "Mars," the second disc, is even more solid. On the eloquent, beautiful "Desecration Smile," lead singer Anthony Keidis turns his vocals from smooth to husky with perfect transition, while the slow-burning "Hard to Concentrate" articulates domesticity from the male perspective.

The boys also manage to get a bit mushy without losing themselves in "She Looks to Me," while "Tell Me Baby" has one of the catchiest pop hooks of the year. "Death of a Martian," with its puzzling lyrics followed by even more puzzling prose, ends the disc.

All this considered, "Stadium Arcadium" is wall-to-wall quality and is sure to please anyone with even the slightest hint of interest in the band. Yes, it could have been abridged. Sure, some lyrics sound like they were really written on Jupiter and Mars. Nevertheless, listeners will find it impossible to find another album this year with such a high volume of thoroughly solid rock 'n' roll.

Highlights

Dani California - everyone has heard this by now. classic rock anthem

Snow (Hey oh) - super mellow and actually very beautiful. one of the best tracks in all.

Hump De Bump - classic Chili Peppers funk. awesome track

Slow Cheetah - very underrated. awesome acoustics and puts you in an incredibly somber funk.

Torture Me - loud, blasting, four snare beat with even a hint of a trumpet at the end. Johns solo kicks ass

C'mon Girl - starts out like a ballad but blasts off during the chorus. another great John solo.

Hey - jazzy brilliance. one of the top tracks in my opinion. johns solo is so slow and methodic that its amazing.

Desecration Smile - another track like Slow Cheetah. you'll get the chills when the piano comes in

Tell Me Baby - once again another classic Chili Peppers sound. they switch from funk to rock better than anyone ever has. great rapping lyrics

Hard to Concentrate - quiet and passionate. just an all around really cool track

Readymade - the part of the song where Anthony tells John to "clean it up" will sell you on this track. friggen kick ass.

Make You Feel Better - probably will be a single. great drum beats. reminds me of the 60s brit rock.

Storm In A Teacup - awesome guitar lick in the intro to the verses. hearing a muffled anthony scream "somebody get down here now!" in the begginning is awesome. rocked out track.

We Believe - i dont know why i love this track so much but i just do. i didnt at first but its really grown on me. the childrens chorus brings back an "under the bridge" feel. cool and jazzy like Hey.

Turn It Again - could be the best track on the entire album. absolutely amazing solo, chorus, lyrics. everything about it is incredible.

Death of a Martian - haunting closing track to a superb album. the spoken prose at the end is modern day poetry.

All in all, this album is genius. dont listen to the crappy reviews that say people will forget about this because they are wrong. This album will be considered rock royalty for years to come.
