To me this is when the Chili Peppers were good. I have been looking for this album for years and they are hard to find on CD. I can say a must have for all those who remember the 80's punk rock area or just in to funk music.

Free Music Review: The Chili Peppers` hardest rocking album
Hit: 5 Stars

The Uplift Mofo Party Plan is not only one of my favorite Red Hot Chili Pepper albums, but also one of my favorite albums of all time. This album finally had the original lineup of Anthony, Flea, Hillel and Jack together for what sadly turned out to be their only studio album. The album had the same elements of the Chili Peppers` previous albums with Anthony`s rapping and Flea masterful work on the bass, but at the same time it differed from the self titled debut and Freaky Styley with a harder rocking sound powered by Hillel Slovak`s blistering guitar. I highly recommend The Uplift Mofo Party Plan to the younger fans of the Chili Peppers that want to get educated on the bands` roots.

Favorite songs: Fight Like A Brave, Me and My Friends, Backwoods, Behind The Sun and Special Secret Song Inside aka I wanna Party on Your P*ssy.

This is the consummate Peppers record, PERIOD! Yeah, Blood Sugar Sex Magic (BSSM), might be more accessible, but Acid proves that the Uplift was the shizzle before anyone even thought of shizzlin' it.

Dose out 'n' love the Uplift, especially with headphones.

Free Music Review: Classic Chili Peppers
Hit: 4 Stars

"Uplift Mofo" was the last and greatest RHCP studio recording with late guitarist and founding member, Hillel Slovak. This album oozes a late 1980's funk/party/rock feel - all high energy tracks. The energy starts high on the opening track, "Fight Like a Brave" and doesn't let up. "Me and My Friends" has become one of my favorite RHCP songs of all time. There's also a great cover of Dylan's "Subterranean Homesick Blues" although you'll have to be paying close attention to recognize it.

This album really offers a glimpse into the band's roots and shows insight into how they evolved into the group they are today. A must own for any true RHCP fan.

Free Music Review: great album but....

this isn't about that. amazon, take off kingofrock's spotlight kid review off the spot. it's unreliable, it says no chump love sucker and walkin on down the road are similar, when they're anything but. people who listened to this enough to remember all the songs know it. and it's very apalling to read: love trilogy, a nice slow song. A NICE SLOW SONG?!?!? what the ****? it's anything but a slow song. this guy obviously either skimmed through the songs quickly in one listen or he hasn't listened to it at all.
