Free Music Review: Beautifully Sad!

First of all I must say that this CD is fantastic. I was rather fortunate to find my self-a copy in good old N.Z. Let me tell ya, it sure did cost me a packet but it was WELL WORTH IT! The Bad News is that the band is no longer, but the music lives on. Songs on this CD are written about going fishing, going to Mexico & getting drunk. The most superb factor in regards to the supreme music contained on this disc is that it's not angry music, yet rather relieving. So if you like to have fun - this is DEFINITELY for you. What really puzzles me & has certainly left me very bamboozled is why bands & artists such as the likes of Limp Bizkit, Blink-182, Papa Roach, 3 Doors Down, Britney Spears & all that other KRAP out there today makes it to the big time? They are clearly artists of minimal talent that couldn't write their way out of a hole both musically & lyrically if their lives depended on it! Here we have The Refreshments, a band in which the members are very much in tune with one another & need I mention the beautifully heart-sung lyrics in a passionate manner by Roger. We have Brian David Blush who really knows how to play his Lead Guitar, Roger Meade Clyne who has great Rhythm Guitar work and an excellent voice that really shines on tracks 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9 (my personal favorite), 12 & 13. These tracks I have just mentioned also happen to be my all time favorite songs on this record. As for P.H. Naffah, he really plays his drums well & hard. All that could be said about Arthur Eugene Edward's III (Buddy) ability on Bass is DAMN! It's such a Shame, Shame, Shame that The Refreshments are not household names. At least it is a band us fans (however many & little group of us be there) will always treasure the WONDERFUL music provided to us by The Refreshments. All in all The Refreshments is a band that is not out there to further corrupt the world. Muchas gracias a: The Refreshments.
